After reading positive reviews, I went to the restaurant to order take out. There were lots of people doing the same – and also staying to eat there. A bustling lunch spot, I ordered two pieces of uni and the Mizu sashimi lunch special. All super fresh, delicious and I will be ordering here again! Probably tomorrow…!
We came in really late after a movie, so I am really happy that they even took us in. We asked for tea coz it was just really cold outside and they obliged. A friend got the spicy tuna roll and a veggie roll which were both excellent. We ordered the red curry, miso fried rice and the pad Thai, all of which were solid. The food is very well priced. The chicken in the red curry was over cooked so they immediately took it back and didn't charge us for it, which was classy. They seem to have really sweet lunch deals, would love to try it sometime. If yelp allowed 3.5 stars, this place would get it.
I'll play nice and give this place 4 stars.
I think they put a lot of effort into making the sushi look presentable. I think this is a great place for lunch in the Flat Iron District. It's reasonably priced. It's honestly the type of quality that is A-OK. It's better than convenient store sushi for sure, but not the best sushi in the world.
My coworkers got the teriyaki chicken bento box and a Dragon Roll. I got the fresh cucumber wrapped around tuna, salmon, other fix-ins.
The Fried Banana dessert is meant to share. They have the standard green tea ice cream for dessert as well.
Don't mind coming again if i'm in the area!
The first time I ordered a teriyaki tofu lunch box. Then when I opened it in the office, I couldn't find any tofu in it, instead a large piece of chicken breast.
Then second time I ordered red curry shrimp with rice. Besides some shrimps, vege, and whatever should be in this dish, I found a lot of chicken breast in it as well.
The third time I just ordered salmon sushi. Thanks god there is no chicken breast wrapped in the roll! I almost cried.
This review is definitely for the happy hour which was amazing. $5 for cocktails (which weren't very good but they were basically straight liquor do if you're trying to get drunk…). The rolls are cheap too. We tried some specialty ones at regular price. They weren't bad but they were expensive. We were totally fine with the discounted happy hour rolls which were good. The place wasn't empty but certainly wasn't too crowded either. I will definitely be coming back when I have a sushi craving and can hit up happy hour.
My boyfriend and I like to come here for the groupon deal. This place is pretty close to our apartment and the sushi is decent. If you add in the groupon deal it's a great price. I would highly recommend the rock shrimp or coconut shrimp. Probably the two best appetizers on the menus. The tofu is also delicious. With respect to the signature rolls, I'd recommend you stay away from anything with jalapeno. They used to have a fresh slice of jalapeno on top of their rolls, but they recently switched to pickled jalapeno which completely dominates the taste of the sushi.
Bought the Groupon for a gal's night and it was well worth it! Sooooooo good.
Great sushi rolls, great pricing on wine (great happy hour) and nice location.
I will be going back.
Ehhhhh. Had lunch here the other day and honestly it was nothing to rave about. Average I guess..
My friend found a bone in her salmon roll… Tsk tsk.
Probably wouldn't want to give it a try again.
