  1. We had dinner here on a Friday night for a party of five. We waited about 15-20 minutes to be seated since it was a busy Friday night. The place is pretty small though and we felt like we were in the way waiting by the door so we just stepped outside and waited there. Luckily, it was a nice evening.

When we were seated eventually but were seated right by the door. Whenever people walked in or out we would feel the cold gust of air that blew our hair and napkins all around. This was kind of annoying to deal with when you're trying to have dinner.

Besides the wait, small space, and where we were seated the food and service was good. We ordered guacamole for the table which was too lemon-limey for my taste but was a pretty big portion. Others ordered carne asada, chicken burritos, and I had the fish tacos and plantains. Everybody liked their food and drinks.

I think I'd rather try other restaurants in the area before coming back here.

  2. The Food is worth 5 Stars, the service is worth negative 5 Stars, but Yelp doesn't give me that option and it wouldn't be fair to the great chimichanga I ate.

I'll start with the beginning, reservation for a party of 2, I arrived first was offered a seat to wait at the bar, wanted to get a drink while I waited but no one acknowledged me.

I get seated, again reservation for 2, I only get one menu and one cutlery set, waiter comes over tells me the specials and then just walks away immediately after saying them like what ?! Well I guess I wasn't ordering the specials then.

I order my chimichanga and ask for grilled steak instead of shredded beef, waiter tells me it will be like 5 dollars extra, I don't mind it but I ask if their is a specific reason, I get no answer, my water is never refilled, I have to yell for more napkins, yeah service was atrocious, waiter just standing around doing nothing!

I would of been more understanding if he seemed busy but nope just standing around

ALSO THIS PLACE DOESNT SERVE CHIPS AND SALSA WHILE YOU WAIT ?! What kind of Mexican place was this?!

  3. I've gotta say, they have a good thing going for them but need to lower the prices. I felt bit cheated out of my money here. Not gonna lie, the food is great but it just isn't worth the $20 per entree for lunch time!!! The taco salad is HUGE and fills you up and the tacos are delicious. And as always, get a margarita with your mexican food because here they are strong! Warning: iinside it's really cramped. Would be much better if they removed one table so that there was actually room for people to enjoy the atmosphere.

  4. Ok, I know I live in LA and we have some pretty good Mexican joints out there and it's not fair to compare the two. But, we can do that with all other types of restaurants….so here goes.

Great vibe in this little spot. Dark and small with a nice bar up front. About 12 tables in the back. Good staff who are up to the task and right there with zero ny attitude.

Started with chips, salsa and a house margi. Chips could have been fresher and felt out of a bag. Ok, not great. Margi was good.

Dinner I went with a yelp suggestion of Al Pastor tacos with pineapple. Here's my overall thought.

One, not cheap. Two margi and taco place was $50.00 plus tip. I should be knocked out for that.

Two, I don't love quantity over quality. Too much food on the plate. Less is more sometimes.

Not sure I would come back, my search for great ny Mexican continues.

  5. Went here for a casual dinner with a large party. They were well prepared for our large group which was great. The staff was really nice. The restaurant itself is very cute and intimate.

The food… really wasn't too memorable, which is a shame considering the price range and all of the other pluses. There were a lot of deliveries being pushed out of the place which I wouldn't have expected.

The margaritas were decent and the cayenne/lime (?) salt on the rim was a nice touch. The guac was good too.

I'd probably go back for the HH margaritas and some guac if I'm in the area and really craving Mexican… But probably wouldn't go back for the main courses.

  6. Terrible salad! If you come do not expect good salsas nor salads. They taste taken out of a can and the cheese is far from fresh Mexican.

  7. So I had the grilled flounder tacos on blue tortillas, and they where amazing. Huge fan. And the margaritas are to die for. The smokey and and jalapeño are my favs.  Whenever I'm home from NOLA I will always come back to this place

  8. Mole. Do you read our reviews? Based on your food you should have a much better rating.  But the service is CONSISTENTLY bad.  On the east side it was rude or indifferent bartenders (now closed).  On the west side it's waitstaff that tries to screw you.  It can't be that hard to train your staff.  You are a Mexican restaurant. A culture known for its warmth.  No where is that evident at mole.
