Cereal milk with cereal bits. The ice cream was salty, and the bits were crunchy. This place is a small little shop with a whole bunch of people wanting to eat there. As an avid yelper, I definitely wanted to try it and see what the whole hype was about. It was yummy and creamy and oh so delicious. There is some seating outside but other than that, you can stand around the shop. Cute little place for dessert on the go. Recommend!
Came to this spot for a snack in the middle of the day. It was about 2pm and had no wait. Wasn't too crowded, maybe 3 people in line.
I don't have any super favorites here, but I did get to try their famous items. The cereal milk is just okay to me, but I don't think its a must eat. It just tastes like cereal in ice cream form. It's good, but I don't think I would wait in line for it, ever! I also tried their compost cookie, and to be really honest, its so sweet!!! Way too sweet for me or maybe its because I'm really not a dessert person? My friends really like this cookie and stock up and buy like 5 LOL! It has chocolate, butterscotch(maybe?), walnuts and a bunch of other things or so it seems like.
Also, the workers didn't help my experience. I understand that the door needs to be shut at all times, but it doesn't cost you anything to be a little kinder. There are nicer ways to ask customers to shut the door
Overall, I don't think I would come back. Only if my friends wanted to.
Would I recommend it? Meh, try it once and you're good.
After hearing so many things about this place, we decided we had to try it. We got the blueberry cookie, compost cookie, crack pie and birthday truffle. All were overwhelmingly sweet. Like it made me cringe a little bit sweet.
Got the soft serve with cereal and it legit tasted like milk and cereal! A little pricier than what I'd like to pay but I hate to admit that it's pretty good and refreshing. I also like how they add a little extra cereal in the bottom of the cup – food ratio of cereal and soft serve! But wish the portion overall was a little bigger
Yes, the cereal milk is the ice cream of choice…. but do NOT come in expecting to like it. I think it is a special gene that determines if you like this taste…unfortunately I do not. It is a very specific sweet/strange taste..but if you're lucky you may love it.
Otherwise 5-star service. The store front is teeny tiny..so expect to wait in a line (very fast, less than 10 minutes always)…and take your purchases elsewhere as there is no place to sit except on a little bench outside.
I tried a couple of things I hadn't tried before:
Malted Milk Chocolate Truffles
Bluberries and Cream Cookie
Both were very good. The malted milk truffles are basically tiny versions of their Malted Milk Chocolate Cake…almost like a cake pop without the stick…good and unique. The cookie was rich and perfectly soft.
Definitely stop by if you're in the area!
Don't get me wrong, I love Momofuku Milk Bar. Their cereal milk soft serve twist is what my childhood dreams are made of. I mean, their cereal milk AND fruity cereal milk soft serves twisted together is so great.
The thing about this Momofuku Milk Bar location is that it is so cramp and there's no space to dine in. So imagine sitting in front of the shop on a hot and humid day trying to eat that soft serve…its pretty dang messy and doesn't give you a chance to savor it.
I regretfully didn't notice they do serve shakes so I may just go with a cereal milk shake instead of the soft serve if I happen to be at this location again.
Cereal milk ice cream was delicious.. While ttypically this didn't be a problem, I had too much ice cream per cup and it melted really quickly all over my hands. Perhaps a bigger cup would've made my experience more enjoyable, however it was delicious. Be prepared for a long line in a tiny building.
