I always hated that Trader Joes and Astor Wines were "far" away. Carrying home more than 6 bottles would be taxing on my shoestring arms without a cab. Not anymore.
Enter this new, bright wine and liquor store. I did not have plans to buy anything on my first visit, since my apartment had full inventory of spirits.
The shop was empty and I felt like I was being followed… I looked intently in the bourbon section and picked up an Elijah Craig 12. Jacque started an intelligent conversation on bourbon. I was pleased with his knowledge.
I snooped around more and looked at the refridgerated section. I'm not well versed in sparkling wines and champagnes, so Jacque gave me suggestions dependent on flavor profiles. I was pleased with Jacque's helpfulness. I ended up buying a few bottles. Prices were fair. No lines.
Morton Williams Wines and Spirits is an excellent liquor store and a welcome addition to Kips Bay.

I came in here before they closed on a Friday night (they close at 11pm) and the service is EXTREMELY friendly (and knowledgeable). They have an amazing selection of wines that are easy to navigate as they are split by region (California, Italy, France, etc). I loved their selection – spans all price points and they have some GREAT wineries represented here. I will definitely come back.
