  1. My new go to place for fresh veggies!
Baby carrots, green pepper, mushroom, and cucumber for $7. I still have part of the cucumber too a week later to tell you how fresh it was when I got it:)

  2. Great little corner store! They have fresh produce that's good and affordable. They have almost everything you might need at this store that you might have missed while doing your regular grocery store, but keep an eye out they might over charge you since the input the prices manually and don't check.

They also have fresh juice you just tell them what you want an they will make you a fresh healthy drink.

  3. Officially on the juice train. $4 for what amounts to be about 23 ounces of juice post-moustache-residing pull top-off—hey, my professional juicewoman told me to!

Today I got orange, kale, pineapple, and a full plug of ginger.

    "Do you like it spicy?"
    "I like it spicy."

Listen, I know there's a whole debate about the loss of insoluble fiber, the sugar, etc., but guys, this is fresh juice. Nature's dessert. It's doing a lot more harm than good. Get off the blogs.

Watch how much fruit they use. Watch how much you get for your money. I wonder what the profit margin is on these things.

Nothing good in my life has lasted. Mr. Kiwi. Pls.

The line's sometimes long but moves real quick. The ladies who make the juice are the friendliest people I've ever encountered on Myrtle Ave.

    Yuuuum

  4. Fresh and inexpensive produce for the win!!! My father-in-law introduced me to this place about 5 years ago and I could not believe all that I could get for so little money. A true gem in the community where everything is so pricey and often not worth it.
I used to worry at first it was too good to be true, that I'd get home cut into some produce and see it was going bad or something but that's never the case. Always fresh! I mean where else am I getting large grapefruits 2 for $1; raspberries, blueberries and sometimes strawberries for $1; fresh greens and lettuce consistently inexpensive.
The cherry on top of Mr. Kiwi is the fresh juice station. A large (about 16oz) is $4 and a small (about 12oz) is $3. You choose whatever you want  to put in your juice for additional cost ANNDDDDD there will almost always be a bit more made than the ounces you purchased they simply let you drink it down and pour in the remaining juice!!! Where they do that at?!?!?!??!? Only Mr. Kiwi's!!!

  5. Mr. Kiwi's is definitely the best store under the JMZ and my preferred stop whenever I need fresh produce. Sure, most of their grocery goods are severely overpriced (you're paying for organic/earthy-crunchy goods in a bodega in a hipster neighborhood…need I say more?) but their produce is usually SUPER CHEAP and really good for the area. Finding 3 for $1 fresh zucchini in the dead of winter? $1 cartons of cherry tomatoes? YUUUUP.

It can be hit or miss sometimes, but you can avoid that by…not buying the stuff that doesn't look fresh. Rocket science, I know.

Besides that, they're open 24 hours so they have all of your late-night munchie needs, from Talenti gelato to dumplings and chips (not that I know anything about that). There's also a juice bar that is always popping, no matter what time of the day or night.

Credit card on purchases over $10 only unfortunately, but you can easily stock your fridge with enough vegetables for a month with that amount.

  6. I was told there was a place that did $4 freshly made juices so I had to find out for myself. This place is legit!

I briefly wandered through the grocery area and, as some other reviewers have mentioned, some of the pricing on packaged foods was a little steep but the produce seemed to be fairly priced. $1 avocados, can't beat that!

Onto the juice review — AMAZING! You can choose whatever ingredients you want in your juice (or take a suggestion from one of the super sweet ladies working the juice bar) for just $4. I repeat, $4! A juice that size anywhere else could easily run you $8-10. Anyway, the produce is nicely chilled so the juices are super refreshing. I love this place! The line can get long and you have to pay for the juice in the same line as grocery shoppers but it's well worth the wait.

  7. Mr. Kiwi's is my go to place for fresh press juice, you can chose any combination of fruits and veggies for $4. I just wished they used organic ingredients or at least gave you the option to pay a little more for organic ingredients. They have an array of products from mochi to amy's pizza but be ready to pay for the connivence of a local specialty shop, some of their prices are higher than Whole Foods. Produce is usually very fresh and well priced. I love their wide selection of craft beers, not bad for a shop in the middle of Myrtle ave.

  8. Clean, great produce and good prices.
I can get fresh produce for under $10 three blocks away.

The only down side to this place is that their packaged goods can be pricey.

I love purchasing their veggies and flowers! Always fresh and delicious (well, i don't eat the flowers).
