  1. Mr. Lo's (that's not the official name but I'm going with it) has been on the corner of Kissena and Sanford for a few years now.  Full disclosure:  I knew Mr. Lo when he used to run a food cart on this corner called the "Dumpling Express" and made fried dumplings and fried noodles, which were insanely tasty.  FYI, the guy in my photo happens to be Mr. Lo's associate, not the man himself.

Needless to say, I was disappointed when he swapped out for a BBQ cart citing the changes in taste in the area but I gave him a shot in his new endeavor and I'm glad I did.

This cart offers the standard BBQ cart skewer menu, beef, chicken, lamb etc.  So what's so different between him and all the other BBQ carts in the area?  Well first, he serves grilled fish balls, which not everyone carries.  Second, he has this brown sauce that he puts on all of his skewers which no one else has.  It's no joke, sort of a cross between sa cha sauce and hoisin sauce.  It's crazy good.  He also has the standard spicy and cumin options for those who are looking for the usual flavors.  The beef and fish ball skewers are best here and chicken is no slouch although its similar to everyone else's.  My wife and kids have cravings for the fish ball skewers.  Prices are standard too ($1.25 per skewer, buy 10 get 1 free, etc).  Top that off with his incredibly friendly demeanor and it's hard not to come back time after time.  As long as he's on the corner, I'm a regular here.
