  1. You might be tempted to try this truck like I did, it's striped lime green and yellow facade advertising a traditional sweet Greek delicacy of deep fried dough balls, beckoning to you out of the rain. Unfortunately, for a truck that specializes in loukoumi and greek yogurt- seriously, who's going to pay $5 for a Greek yogurt parfait when they can very well get a honey Fage at any old grocery store- I was sorely disappointed in their loukoumi. They had a nutella drizzled version, a Greek sour cherry doused version, a banana caramel version (all $5 for a small), but I went with the traditional: loukoumi drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon. I'd had better as a free, after-dinner bonne bouche at Telly's. Mr. Loukouma's loukoumi were comparatively denser and lukewarm. They had been pre-cooked. Big mistake. Loukoumi tastes best fresh out of the frier. They're even bad at Telly's when they're just a batch fried up at once and parceled out later. But, when they're fresh their crust shatters and the combined honey as a sweetener melds beautifully in your mouth. Not Mr. Loukouma's. Even his honey and the cinnamon topping were watered down. I'll stay clear of Mr. Loukouma truck from now on.
