  1. Cute place to sit on a quiet night.  They have board games and long couch.  On certain nights, they also have live bands, if that's what you're looking for.  Depending on the time of the week you go, it can be a relaxing cafe for a date, or it can be a lively rock band venue for a group.  Either case, they have beer and liquor and caffeine!

  2. Love this cafe/bar/venue.  Tucked away on a quiet corner in Williamsburg, only a couple blocks from Bedford Ave station (L) and Metropolitan Ave (G), it's got the unique quality of being both accessible and intimate.  Good company with outdoor seating and live music on weekends makes it a great "local" addition to the neighborhood as the big buildings get put up in the surrounding area.

The soju cocktails are really nice, as is the Nola cold brew coffee – they have something for everyone.  Also check out the long table and bar, both made from a massive oak tree downed by Hurricane Sandy.  Having a quiet place like this only 20 minutes away from the bustling Union Square is a necessary respite for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the city.  I'll definitely be back!

  3. Great neighborhood bar (they are a beer kind of place and have a wine or two on hand). Low key, exposed brick, high ceilings, nice lighting, cool art, nice performance space with comfy couches, friendly bartender, snackies and other food choices. And a fantastic creature mural on the side of the building.

  4. What a crusty dusty moth-ridden hangout. May be acceptable as a cafe (?) but don't waste your time coming here at night for live performances. The comedy show they hosted was pretty pathetic.

  5. "The satanic and visually disturbing walls would make this place a great spot to have a day care center during the day." My friend and I joked before his band preformed. Obviously this is no spot for a baby, with such crazy images and loud loud rock music. Sure enough during his act, the bass player's, sister in law walks in with his niece. Nice! Well at least she had giant headphones covering her ears.

Muchmore's is a cool spot which has live music acts perform. The room in which they perform has walls which have some intense, cool art work. Plenty of seats, comfy couches but more importantly enough space to let 20-30 people stand and rock out to a local artist.

The bar is nice. They serve cans and beer off tap. Good selections at a good price. They also have sandwiches if you get hungry. However they don't have liquor. C'mon when I'm seeing a band I want a beer and a shot. Why won't you let me live Muchmore's?

Good place to catch some local acts.

  6. This place is okay.  I've never been here for the coffee, only at night when local bands play some shows.  They seem to have a pretty indifferent staff, who is kind of just hanging with friends while working.  It doesn't seem all that clean either.  They have some cookies and pastries lying around, but no food menu.  They also don't serve liquor.  Only beer (which they were out of nearly everything the last time I asked, and there is no listing or mention of that) and soju.  All their soju drinks were expensive and not mixed well.  There are just many other bars in the area doing a better job.  I'm not going to say don't go here, because I'll be back since it's a cool venue for shows and has really cool art displayed, but there is no need to go out of your way to come here.

  7. If you come to Williamsburg expecting everything to be hipster, you will feel right at home here. With one very critical exception – better beer. No PBR here, but you can get a good (if small) selection on tap for $5 a pint, which is fine (I had Smuttynose porter). Plenty of fake glasses, knit hats (I brought my own), flannels, etc.
So, I came for a night of music, and was not disappointed. This place can book a good band or two, and the sound system is surprisingly competent. There are two rooms inside, one with the bar and one with the stage. The room with the stage has a number of really comfy couches. People come in, toss their coats and (sometimes) knit hats, and flop into the couch.
I'm not a hipster, but a place like this makes me think, maybe hipsters actually can live comfortable lives despite having to hate everything mainstream. I'd come back.
