Great beers on tap and good happy hour specials. I would say its bad for groups because it is a tight space and the waitresses are constantly going back and forth, squeezing past you.
I had the buffalo chicken wrap with a side of potato salad. The wrap was just okay. The people I were with got burgers and said they were very good. Service was quick and friendly.
My dad and I have our annual St. Patrick's Day lunch here. It is a convenient place for us to go.
It's your basic Irish pub. It has a pretty good selection of liquor, including, of course, Irish whiskeys and Guinness Stout.
The food is decent. I've had the corned beef and cabbage, fish & chips, and the traditional shepherd's pie. Of the three, I like the shepherd's pie the best. However, I've had better at other Irish pubs. The prices are a bit high for what you get, but this is midtown.
I was a bit disappointed yesterday. As is my annual custom, I ordered a shot of Jameson's. I know that a "shot" is not an official measure, but I usually get a decent small glass of whiskey. This time I got a plastic cup that was about twice the size of a thimble (well, maybe 2 1/2 times the size of a thimble). Now, I had no plans of getting drunk, but I'd think I'd get a decent shot of whiskey on St. Paddy's Day.
All-in-all, it is a decent place to meet your friends after work.
If you are a soccer fan, and more specifically an EPL fan – this is THE place you ought to find yourself on a Saturday or Sunday. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home with my soccer brethren. The bar is covered wall to wall with soccer (EPL mostly) memorabilia – and there are tons of dedicated fans who show up every weekend to root for their teams. Plus, tons of great TV screens of all shapes and sizes.
Besides the awesome atmosphere and great decor, I found the beer selection to be solid – nothing amazing like Cork City down the street – but solid craft and mainstream beer selections.
The curry fries are probably the most amazing fries I've had. If all fries tasted like that I'd probably eat them 24/7.
Service was nothing to write home about, but mostly good.
Overall: go here if you have to watch soccer, go here for sports & sports camaraderie. And the curry fries.
Average bar. I came with a friend after dinner for some drinks. They don't have a very large cocktail selection, it's mostly a pub. I would say try the beers, since the cocktails are just alright. I had a blue Hawaii and a pink sunrise, forgot the actual names. Good place to stop by after dinner.
Decent place to grab a drink after work. Bar food isn't the best I've had, but definitely hits the spot when the first bubbly drink hits your brain after a long day at work. Prices are reasonable – tall top tables do not have waiters. The bartenders have always been friendly, available and knowledgeable. Definitely one of my happy hour haunts.
We stopped by for dinner before catching a train at Grand Central Station. The ambiance was nice, fairly quiet for a pub style restaurant. We ordered a burger and nachos, both were just "okay". Nothing to rave about. Our server had zero personality, but was attentive — we were one of two tables in her section.
Overall, it isn't a place we would go out of our way to eat at again. We would certainly try something else.
Been here a few times. For a midtown Irish Pub it's not terribly priced but it's not great either. Also, I've heard the food is pretty mediocre though I've never eaten here other than stealing someone's mozz stick a few years ago. That happened. They had some sort of happy hour deal of $4 pints until 8pm and then $5 pineapple infused vodka cocktails and $6 sangria all night. Again, not bad. I ended up getting a regular beer post happy hour and was kind of pissed because it wasn't in a traditional pint glass. BUT. . . then they poured the exact same crap Sam Adams summer ale into a pint glass for my friend. I ended up with the skinny one that definitely wasn't the same amount and it was more expensive. Sam Adams anything is not worth $7 plus tip. That made me frown for a long time until I discovered house wine that actually tasted really pretty good was $5 all night. Which I wish I would have realized walking through the door. It's a decent pub though to grab a drink if you have people that work in the area. But I wouldn't stay here for long.
