I've been trying to eat at restaurant franchises less these days, but every so often, I find myself back on the beaten path. This Muscle Maker Grill reminds me that good food can still come from a big chain location.
Let's start off with the facility. It's located right along route 18 so it's pretty easy to get to. There's also plenty of parking in the area being that it's in a shopping plaza. The interior is well-maintained and the bathrooms are kept clean.
You're not going to find any surprises here in terms of pricing. It's pretty comparable to most suburban Muscle Maker Grills in New Jersey so you can definitely find a decent meal option for under or around $10.
As for what level of quality you're going to get for your money is something that will surprise you. We all know you won't be finding any 5-star chefs in the back room of a chain restaurant, but if staff are trained well, they can turn out some pretty good dishes. Everything I've tried here has been well-prepared and the portion sizes were generous.
The staff are generally nice people who will process your order relatively quickly. My only gripe would be that they wouldn't let me mix protein shake flavors. Sometimes a guy just wants a little chocolate and vanilla swirl!
The other food options in this area can be hit or miss at times (Yes, even the Chipotle). I've yet to have a bad experience here and it shows that the management knows what they're doing.
This place isnt that big. Found in the complex next to Babies R Us and Toys R Us, and behind Chipotle. The staff is super nice though. They give large portions just like the one in South Plainfield.
I usually get "Arizona" here, which is grilled chicken, with scallions, tomatos diced (I usually tell them to leave that out) not a fan, and special southwestern sauce (0 carbs by the way), with crispy turkey bacon for extra protein, what the heck right? Man, does it fill you up and its amazingly goooood.
I tried out their chicken teriyaki stir fry with rice. It also comes with peppers, onions, portabello mushrooms, teriyaki sauce, over brown rice. I actually enjoyed it. I might try this again in addition to my "Arizona"…
Cant go wrong with something good and healthy for ya! Price is pretty decent too. Oh yeah super clean as well, which is always a plus. This is close to my other job so we can order for delivery!
They also do delivery here if you are nearby. Lots of local pickups, so there will be times where you may have to wait up to 25 minutes for your food which was very annoying! I guess they cant help it with the mass of people calling and coming in, not enough chefs back there 😉 I saw two thats it. Good luck.
I went to the EB MMG with my family for a quick dinner around 7 on a Thursday night. It was pretty empty, but probably because Smashburger just opened in the same strip mall and took all of the attention like a new baby.
Everyone's food came out quickly and was fresh hot and delicious! I ordered the Mona Lisa wrap which is a new value item under 400 calories. The staff was also very friendly. I'll definitely be back!
Looking at all these reviews Im kinda shocked. The side of steak is amazing. The chicken is very delicious too. Maybe I haven't tried the things people dislike. The cucumber side is fresh and delicious. Ive had their pasta before and that was also delicious.
