I attended a CE here with a few of my friends. Walking in, we were amazed. The space is beautiful! Almost everything was wooden, from the tables and chairs to the fans and high ceiling. The baby's breath in a vase on each table was endearing. Loved the contrast of the teal blue of the booth seats against the browns and the exposed brick. We all thought this would be a nice venue for a wedding and funny enough, a few days later, I met a fellow Yelp Elite who said she was having her wedding here!

Our CE included a three course meal. I started off with the gambas al ajillo. It tasted alright; the presentation would have been enhanced if the shrimp wasn't chopped up in little pieces but left whole. It was also lacking the garlic. As for the entree, I got the pato (pan seared duck magret with apricot & pistachio relish, caramelized pearl onions & black cherry coulis). Enjoyed the relish but don't think I got any onions at all. The first half was nicely cooked, medium rare but the other half was more tough. Regardless, both pieces were hard to cut through – I found myself scraping my plate with the knife during the presentation, a little embarrassed. My meal ended with three mini cheesecakes that definitely put me over the top.

My first impression would have been better have not our waiter rushed through his service. He was taking plates and utensils before we were done with them. I will definitely remember this restaurant was one of the more eye pleasing in Williamsburg, not to mention they put on little heart lights, like the Batman signal, at night on the adjacent wall outside!

Boys, if you live in the hood, this is a good date spot.

  2. My Moon is a hidden gem in Williamsburg. It almost seems too lavish for a restaurant in its location, but since this is also a wedding venue it definitely makes sense.

Came here for dinner with a group of 5 and left STUFFED! Everything we ordered was amazing.

    – Shishito peppers: pretty standard, but I love that they have them. Shishito peppers are one of those things I always have to get everywhere I go and these were good.
    – Zucchini flatbread: this might've been my favorite dish of the night. Caramel iced onions, spicy honey, zucchini and goat cheese on flatbread. Could not stop eating it! It had the right balance of sweet and savory without being too heavy.
    – Garlic shrimp: AMAZING! We ordered two for the table and they came out bubbling and steaming. Be sure to ask for extra bread to soak up all the remaining garlic butter sauce.
    – Spanish cured meat and cheese board: I feel like the menu said this was for two… but it can certainly feed many, many more especially if you are doing tapas or entrees. Loved this as well.
    – Patatas bravas: a must order. Potatoes were perfectly done, sauces were amazing. I've had this dish at a lot of places and I'd give the ones at My Moon 5/5
    – Beet salad: most of us ordered salads rather than entrees, so these were brought out last. It was a light salad and a great way to end the dinner portion of the meal. Be warned, this definitely isn't entree sized so don't rely on this as your main staple. I love beets and I love goat cheese and this salad was a small taste of both.
    – Gelato: we got the mango, it was good but probably wouldn't be my go-to. We thought it sounded lighter than some of the other flavors so opted for this one because we were super full already.
    – Strawberry shortcake: I only had a bite of this but oh my god. Next time I'll definitely have to save more room for dessert!

We also had the sangria (red) and it was a perfect complement to the meal. I'll definitely be returning here again!

  3. Came here with my best friend following a Yelp event for some tapas and drinks. Left very full and pretty buzzed (this shouldn't be news anymore when I write a review about the two of us getting together…LOL)

The atmosphere here blew me away. Both the huge outdoor dining space and the immaculate indoor dining space were astonishing, beyond romantic and fun. I cannot say enough about the ambiance here. It is filled with warm colors, romantic and cozy candlelight, and awesome outdoor cabanas where we ate our meal. This is an awesome place to bring anyone, beyond awesome decor! Excellent excellent! There is an upper part to the deck and a lower part, very spacious patio and interior. One feels like she or he is in a novel cover when coming here! I love the mason jar strung up candle lights hanging over the top portion of the patio. You almost feel like you are somewhere upstate and secluded when hanging out on the patio. The staff is awesome and friendly. We had an incredible waiter who really picked out the best tapas for us when we got stuck and suggested some great drinks. Professional and fun!

Now…the food and drinks. The nuestras bravas were on point and delicious, I wish they were bottomless. Who doesn't love deep fried potatoes, especially after drinks? The croquetas de espinacas were savory and amazing, an excellent suggestion by our waiter, probably my favorite item that we ordered! The pulpo canaro was alright, I'm not a huge fan of charred octopus. My best friend IS a fan and said she loved it. The pato, which is pan seared duck with relish and marmalade was TO DIE FOR, soooo good! I love duck and this was exceptional.  Last, we got the txangurro which was Alaskan king crab served in avocado with sauce, incredible! For dessert we got the crema catalana semifredo which was small, but perfect because we were so full from dinner. I got the Anthos drink which was great, my friend got the Gold Rush and it was too strong.

Not sure why such low ratings, I would for sure come back here again!

  4. My best friends planned my birthday dinner here for a large group of 20+ guests.

    pros:
    – we occupied the entire room to the left and were able to enjoy a semi-private dinner.
    – very roomy and comfortable dining. atmosphere, ambience and decor was very cozy and romantic. loved the tall ceilings, exposed brick and candlelight.
    – we chose the family style menu (which was reasonably priced) and there was definitely more than enough food to go around.
    – some of the items on our menu were hit or miss but for the most part, majority was tasty and well prepared.
    – their speciality cocktails were actually very good. the Glass Slipper was my favorite.

    cons:
    – our waiters while professional, were somewhat dry and robotic.
    – the dishes could have came out somewhat faster.

the major disappointment however, was that we were never informed the backyard garden closes before midnight. the host agreed to keep an area reserved for us in the nice outdoor lounge/cabana area for our after-party where we also invited additional friends to meet us for drinks. suffice it to say, it really really put a damper on the entire evening while myself and 15 other friends are walking around williamsburg at midnight looking for a place to have drinks…

    MAJOR FAIL, MY MOON!

  5. I've been here 3 times . This is a very beautiful restaurant, I wish it was warm enough that night to sit outside! Anyways the inside is just as lovely. I had duck, hmm it melted in my mouth! I don't remember what he got but it was delicious

  6. The outdoors space drew us in and we stayed. I had a Tempranillo under the orange shades and cushioned benches of "my moon" with the hanging lights twinkling and romance in the air although I was on a date with my bff. she also enjoyed the beauty of the space. It's a lot of space with the upper level deck. We didn't even go inside and spent the whole time outside.

We had a lot of tapas but the best were the mushrooms and the bread with olive tapenade. We had duck, lamb, and scallops but they weren't as good as I wanted them to be.

Overall the space is wonderful. I'd probably go just for drinking next time. The benches are comfortable and the warmer air of summer will draw a crowd.

  7. Beautiful venue for an indoor/outdoor wedding!  However, there was almost no food during cocktail hour, the portions for dinner were minuscule, and we left the party starving.  I don't know how much of this was the restaurant's fault and how much was the couple's, but it was a big disappointment.

  8. Ugh.  Came here for an event – not sure what happened behind the scenes, but we had the entire restaurant booked.  The food took so slow to get to us and there was always a shortage of coffee.  The staff should really be prepared to serve enough food at once for such a big group – it's like they were surprised that there were that many people attending when we booked the place.  I was only a guest, but I think bulk of my time was standing on line waiting for the buffet and coffee to become continuously refilled.  When I got to the food, I was hugely disappointed with cold non flavorful food…
