  1. The grilled squid and octopus was delicious along with the peasant salad. The lamb chops at other tables looked awesome as well. Next time!! Will come here again.

  2. The grilled octopus will knock your socks off.
They slice it for you at your table. It's perfectly charred on the outside, unbelievable tender on the inside and just generally bursting with flavor. Truly excellent. It was the best I've ever had.

I ordered the broiled filet of lemon sole which also surpassed my expectations. The portion was quite large, and when accompanied by the standard requisite Greek potatoes, I was stuffed. Sole tends to be a bit boring, a bit bland and a bit blah. However, I was pleasantly surprised by their citrus-y broiled version. I'd order this again and again.

My boyfriend opted for the moussaka. Again, the best I've ever had. It was savory and creamy and rich and delicious … all the things you expect from moussaka, just taken to another level. Be forewarned: after you eat this, you will be useless for the rest of the night. You will want to hibernate like a bear and fall into a deep sleep. But, it will have been worth it.

The only off-putting thing about the restaurant is the service. It's been mentioned that if you aren't Greek, or at least resemble someone Greek then you're treated like a second class patron. I've observed this first hand. While they aren't rude, they just don't check on you as often or go that extra mile to provide quality service. I really don't give a damn. They brought me my food, I enjoyed it thoroughly, we paid and we left. As long as they keep serving up five star seafood, I couldn't care less. But, it would be nice if they viewed everybody who came to dine there as Greek, at least for one meal.

  3. A decent place to have family style portion of grilled meats and seafood. The service is from the wait staff can be improved (takes longer than usual to get water, other needs and the bill).

  4. Overall pretty happy with the way the dishes came out (although there was a longer lag between appetizers and main dishes). To start we had the sardines (very salty), assorted spreads with warm pita, and grilled squid (very tender and delicious!). For entrees I had the filet of lemon sole, BF had the Bifteki Skaras (seasoned very nicely and tasted even better the next day!). My side of lemon potatoes were delicious. Service was ok.

  5. I really like this place.  I've gone there often.  Full Disclosure: I usually get the same thing. Grilled Seafood with lemon potatoes.  But I have gotten other things and have always enjoyed it.  This place is great because it doesn't try to do be anything it's not.  They aren't cool or trendy. This is your Yaya & Papou's food.   Kids, it works!

If you are in Bayside you should try it.
