They have a lunch special for $6. It comes with appetizer (soup or salad), a curry over rice (options the day I went: goat, beef, chili chicken, chicken tikka, chicken meatballs, chicken jalfreezi, or a vegetarian entree), a drink (tea or soda), and dessert.
I ordered the goat curry with the daal soup. I think goat is a very heavy meat, and tastes more gamey than lamb. I actually took a break in the middle of eating because my body wasn't accustomed to eating such a hearty meat. Probably a good meat to eat in the winter. Also note that there are bones in this dish. The daal soup is pretty watery, which I understand is more of a Bangladeshi style of preparation.
The real standout was the dessert. The dessert that they include in the special might change from day-to-day, but this time around, it was a delicious rice pudding. It was creamy without being too rich, and satisfying without being too sweet.
Overall, the lunch special tasted pretty decent, and the price makes it a great deal.
First visit here, Saturday afternoon and no parking! Thank God I had company to sit in the car because the order took some time. I ordered the chicken samosas, chicken biryani, beef curry and a chicken curry lunch special, a piece of fried fish, a keema cheeseburger and jalebi. All came to $30. The lunch specials come over white rice, with dhal, and a soda or chai, they also give a complimentary kheer (rice pudding) dessert. First let me say I had my samosa, then my jalebi and chai there, while I was waiting. I was already impressed with my appetizers. All was really good and they make the best chai! Now, when we got back home we had the rest, and guys these people make really good food! It wasn't greasy, it wasn't overly spicy, and they give generous portions of meat 🙂 The owner was very sweet and helpful, he told me I could place phone orders and he'd be happy to deliver cause parking is tough. And I live about a 11 minute drive away, so that's pretty awesome! The place is clean, the food is fresh and delicious, and and the price is right with friendly service! Definitely going to be a spot for me. Yelp on!
