Nagoya Sushi

“This is the Japanese restaurant my colleagues and I frequent when we are in the mood for a sushi lunch.”

“Their food is always fresh and they're one of the few places that stays open and delivers late.”

“My usual order is a miso soup, or mushroom soup (delish, fulled with shitake, sprouts, and bellas, its really amazing in winter).”

  1. Very dark decor.

I ordered the Chonya Plum wine. Medium body with a slight bitter after taste. Oh,  and there was an actual mini plum in my wine.  T:-/

I was tempted to get one of the special rolls but I just decided to keep it simple and get the shrimp tempura and eel Avocado. They were both very good. Creamy avocado, fresh ingredients.

Satisfied from the food and the service. I could foresee myself coming back for the special rolls and fried ice cream.

  2. This review is back dated to atleast two years ago. I loved this place everyone I cane to NY I and my now wife would go strait here. We would get the sushi pizza and sandwich. Some sushi rolls and our bill for two would always wins up being like 100 or close to it. By the way we only ordered special rolls. But one tone I got like food poisoning and we never went back. But next time we are Around I think we will give it another shot if we are in the area.

  3. Nagoya is definitely my go-to neighborhood sushi restaurant.

The basic hand rolls range from $2.50 to $3.50 and their sushi and sashimi a la carte are all around $1.

Definitely try their Nagoya pizza (slices of tuna, salmon and fish roe on a crispy pancake). You have to eat in though because I tried this for takeout once and it was all soggy and just not good!

Skip the Dynamite roll. It wasn't bad tasting or anything but it just comes topped with this wasabi mayo that straight up looks like they squeezed it out of a Colgate tube. Did not look appetizing at ALL.

I ordered for delivery for the first time the other day (a Saturday around 6:30) and it only took them a half an hour.

    No complaints here!

  4. I'm not even sure how I live so close to Nagoya and the first time I try the food is this past Friday. I'm mortified, because the sushi I've been eating from this neighborhood is a 5 and this I could definitely say is a 10.

From A – Z every sushi dish we ordered was absolutely phenomenal. Like seriously, perfect fish. The colors of the tuna, salmon and sea bass was just amazing. Perfect quality would be a total understatement.

I ordered a salmon teriyaki dish which was surprisingly very cheap for the large portion they gave. I also had these few pieces of seared crusted tuna! Ah my mouth is salivating just thinking about it. Edemame was fresh and nicely boiled.

I want to kick myself for not knowing about this place sooner. Definitely becoming a regular here. This order was a delivery and came to us perfectly packed with nothing ruined in the travel. I look forward to going to Nagoya and trying them in house. I can only imagine how great the meals would be.

  5. Ordered: Chicken teriyaki

Pros–The price ($7 plus tax and tip) was decent for the portion.

Cons–Service was pretty bad. They seemed to have one waiter servicing the entire restaurant. It took awhile for them to take my order and the waiter was barely around except to give and take away the food and check.

  6. solid sushi for the area. normal prices, good, standard fare and yummy drinks and desserts.

  7. Since the guys are playing games I don't understand, this is the perfect opportunity for me to pen this thrilling review for all of you to enjoy on your Saturday night, at home, wondering what I had for dinner…

Okay, snapping back to reality…this sushi is solid for what it is. It's affordable. Like so much so that a spicy salmon roll came to under $3. Are you kidding? Toto, I'm not on Long Island anymore. $4 for 6 shumai, which were really good.

I ordered a special roll that had shrimp tempura inside, with mango and special sauce outside. When it arrived, there was this strange colored mayo-based sauce on it. It looks like someone brushed their teeth with the old school Krest, and then drooled over my roll. Honestly, the color is totally unappetizing. And to make matters worse, it was flavorless. I felt like gagging at first, but everything else in the roll was still good, so I trucked through it.

Everyone else really enjoyed their meals! I mean, it's not amazing sushi. If you're looking for top notch, keep on walking, because this isn't it. But if you're looking for tasty, simple, and cheap sushi, this is your spot.

FYI the delivery took a little longer than expected. But, it's Saturday night, and with prices like this, I'm not surprised. I'm sure we'll continue to order from this establishment when in the area!

  8. I absolutely love sushi. However I can't afford to have it all the time and especially in the city.

I've been coming here since high school and it's still good. It's really convenient for me since it's close to my house.

When I'm early, I tend to get their 3 rolls lunch special with soup or salad.
