Naruto Ramen
“One nice thing about this place is there is a good enough variety that you'd be able to go here if you are vegetarian or a total carnivore.”
“It's not as good as Zuzu or Chuko or some other new ramen places, but it's also not 17 bucks for broth and noodles and some meat.”
“So, after a disappointing visit to Chuko, I was hesitant to hit another Bklyn one…”

To preface, I love anime. This is a fun blend of that love and ramen. Okay, don't come here thinking this is going to be something wildly fancy. It's got a great ambiance (the front is styled to that of a traditional Japanese ramen shop) and the food was delicious. A bowl of their ramen will warm you right up!
This is more of a 3.5 star review.
First experience:
The first time I came here I tried the original Naruto ramen on the menu, cuz why not, right? Everything was great except the soup was wayyyy salty. Their noodles are actually different than the typical ramen noodles also. It's like lo-mein had a baby with regular ramen noodles. But, regardless of that, their portion size is AWESOME. The bowl is about the diameter of a soccer ball and to me, that's a plus. (chashu was really good too)
Second experience:
Awesome. I tried the level 5 spicy challenge they had and won. If you're looking to do this challenge, don't worry; if you can tolerate korean spicy food, you'll beat this with easy. I wish I hadn't sped through eating this because the ramen was delicious. Not salty like the first time, packed with veg and pork; just overall a good bowl of noodles. They ran out of certificates and said they'll call me when they have it again but they never did…but we got a picture on the wall so that's all that really matters. 🙂
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Cleanliness: 3/5
Decor & Style: 4/5
The ramen was good and I enjoyed the tender pork. I wish the broth was somewhat slightly more flavorful however it was good enough for me to come back more than once. The pork-buns however was great! Small, cramped place. Was not a long wait overall. 4/5 overall.
Huge proportion of ramen and great vegetarian options! Make sure to wear comfort fly clothes aka stretchy pants to make sure you can fill up on the huge portion! I LOVE the UNIQUE fries because i truly believe they are *gasp* double fried aka heavenly goodness. Furthermore, the atmosphere is lightly chaotic with loud chatter and slightly cramped seating but with good company all of that is eased. The service is fast and efficient! Great location, great food, and great vegetarian options.
enjoy and cheers:)
Disappointed.
I ordered the Naruto ramen since I wasn't daring enough to try the spicy one with kimchi, even though I like spicy food.
The broth was just light, oily, and not tasty. I guess you can pretty much say the same for the entire bowl of ramen. It pains me to say this since I just want to love and eat all the ramen out there. The other people I was with ordered curry ramen, which looked better but I don't know if it tasted any better.
They only accept cash, so have some handy with you or withdraw from TD Bank across the street or Chase (a few blocks down) before coming here.
Came here a couple of times and always got the curry ramen! One of the good ramen spots! The first time I came here, their pork was thin and juicy however the next couple of times I got it, it was kind of thick but very dry. I still recommend the ramen though!
Naruto is where you go when you want a hot bowl of noodles without a side of pretentiousness or nitpicking, a facet that royally annoys me about ramen nerds in New York. If your friend is one of these nerds take them here out of spite. They deserve it.
A basic bowl is around ten bucks with additional ingredients running about a dollar each and you'll be in and out in twenty minutes, less time than it takes trying to get your name in at Ippudo before your three hour wait.
This place holds the record for the closest I've ever come to finishing a ramen bowl- not that they're small, it was that good. I got the miso ramen and my fiancée got the naruto ramen and finished his. We also got gyoza, which were also quite tasty. Definitely a solid ramen place, and at $30 for two people with an appetizer, it's a price that means we'll be repeat customers.
