  1. Pleasantly surprised! This is the location of the former Shore Cafe. It has been nicely redone inside. Food and service were great. Seating is pretty limited so call for reservations. The parking lot is very small. We needed to wait for someone else to come out so we could park.

  2. Stumbled upon this place with my girlfriend on a Saturday night after some other plans in the area fell through. There weren't that many pictures or reviews on Yelp to look at, so we were originally a little unsure about eating here. After checking out the menu online, we decided to give it a shot.

Oysters – $1.75 each. Served with spicy cocktail sauce and lemons on the side. Oysters were really fresh and fairly large. I have to give credit to the shucker because he/she did a perfect job with these.. There were no bits of shell or sand to be found anywhere, and the oysters slid right out of their shells very easily.

Baked Mushroom Caps – Really good appetizer albeit a bit expensive for me. Mushrooms were stuffed with sweet sausage, spinach, and gruyere… basically served in a puddle of melted gruyere actually. Flavor of the gruyere went really well with the sausage/spinach mixture. Texture of the filling was perfect, but the mushrooms seemed just a little too tough.

French Onion Soup – Really the only disappointing part of my meal. There was a lot of melted cheese, but it was way too burnt in the middle.. pretty much ruined any bite that had any bits of it in it. Broth was lacking in flavor. I'm not positive what cheese they used, but it tasted pretty bland compared to the cheeses in other French onion soups I've had.

Porterhouse Entree – Perfect! I ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked just right. The steak was seasoned really well all around. The fillet portion was incredibly soft and basically melted in my mouth. Overall, it was the best steak I've had in a long time. I ended up with some leftovers, and it was still delicious the next day. The porterhouse was also served with crispy onion straws and roasted vegetables. The roasted vegetables actually caught me by surprise.. I wasn't expecting anything special out of them, but they turned out to be some of the best roasted veggies I've ever had.

The service was top notch. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, and our glasses never went empty. The prices are a little high, but it's also about what you'd expect to pay at a good steakhouse. At this place, I can confidently say that you get what you pay for. Lastly, I wanted to give them some credit for something that is often underappreciated–course timing. From the moment we ordered to the end of the meal, we had fresh food in front of us; there was little to no downtime between each course. Overall, I was really impressed by this place. With quality food and service like this, I'm surprised they weren't completely booked when we went. I'm so glad I stumbled across this place, and I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again.

  3. First time to dine in their new Hazlet location. There is 3 dinning areas, a bar, Tv's and a private parking lot. We made a reservation and were seated right away. Started off with my favorite a dirty Tito's martini ( if you like only vodka and dirty make sure you say no vermouth).  Appetizer were scallops wrapped in bacon, with crispy bacon. My husband had the 16oz NY strip steak, which was perfectly made.I have also heard their pork chops are equally as good as their steaks. I had the grilled salmon and a baked potato side.  All meals come with a salad and vegetables. Tonight the vegetables were roasted. You can upgrade your salad to Caesar for a $3 charge. I always like options.  Our waiter was very nice.

If you have a food allergy of any kind be clear to your waiter and talk to the manager.
