  1. Truly one of the most disappointing diner experiences I've had in NJ.  I've been in the past for brunch-type meals, and have been just luke warm about the food, atmosphere and service.  However, today's BLT and soup were among the worst I've ever had.  Steer clear of the matzoh ball soup – dense matzoh balls in a tasteless broth with uncooked onions and carrots… not much redeeming about it (and I've had a lot of matzoh ball soup in my life).  My coworker said that his Mediterranean salad was like a salt lick.

I'm such a diner fan in general, but just can't endorse this one.

  2. It pains me to have to write this review.  This place was top to bottom not good. Service was slow slow slow.  No spoons on the table.  Had to ask for everything. Waitress didn't ask us if we needed anything, had to run her down to get the check.

Lipton tea.  UGH.  My veggie omelet had bits of ham in it?!  I don't EAT MEAT.  It was traumatic.

  3. This place is OK (not great but good enough to ingest).  My first visit must have been an "on day" because it was good enough for us to return, but ever since then, it has gotten worse.

The service this last visit was the poorest. How, you ask? I'll tell you how…

The waitress needed to take a mental health day, she was so off, my toddler kids were looking at her with the side eye.  She was unbelievably inattentive (ex. no utensils, no food order taking, no drinks — had to constantly call her over.  It got so bad, the waitress servicing another table noticed the displeasure and came over.

For the prices, it's just not worth another trip back.  They charge for every little thing; the coffee is watered down, the eggs are powdered and/or egg beaters, the corn beef straight out of a can.

I can go on and on…but I think I have said enough, you take the risk.  Just don't say you weren't warned.

  4. Just had dinner/breakfast here with a friend, however. when it comes to diner experiences I have experienced better.

The host who seated us was nice.plenty of parking and open 24/7.  The meal, was very cheap but in this case, the price of the item is what you get out of it.

The waitress came over,  and gave us water, however, she left quickly without even asking us if we wanted anything else drink. We decided what we wanted and it took the waitress quite some time to check on us again before we finally ordered our food which did not seem right due to the fact that this place barley had any customers In it.

I wound up ordering sunny side up eggs with corned beef hash and my friend ordered chicken fingers with French fries. It came out fairly quick. When we received our food the waitress asked if we wanted anything else to drink. However, by that time my friend and I were content with our water.

The eggs in general were not fully cooked and the  corned beef hash was very soft. The corned beef has was also not as cooked as it should have been and was not even close to being a generous amount. the meal also came with home fries and toast. Two pieced of the toast were perfectly buttered, however, the other two pieces had two large holes in them and barley any butter. The home fries were OKAY but they could have been a little crispier.

My friends order was actually decent. I tried his and everything seemed to be just right. His order also came with onions rings which we didn't expect and those also wound up being very good.

When It comes to diners, I am not picky because I usually don't expect much. But I must say, there are many diners in the area that's I believe can absolutely out do this one. Personally, I can not see myself coming back here because I know there are  better late night spots to eat at in the area.

  5. I hit this diner when I need something to eat and can't make up my mind. It's been around forever, and it looks it.

As far as aesthetics, they could use a makeover. On this visit I noticed that the menus had recently been redone and I have to say they looked good and were much easier to follow. They should have added some new dishes or changed things up with the actual food choices though.

I've never had anything bad come out of the kitchen so I would give them 4 stars on food alone. Their buffalo chicken salad is delicious and the curly fries are perfect.

  6. This diner really has come along way. After being closed for sometime due to Sandy then reopened i remember it not being as great as it once was. But recently i have been going here with my family and my do times change!
There dinner specials are off the charts good. Portions are HUGE. You get so much with the dinners. Soup, salad bar, potato, veggie choice and dessert. Now me personally im picky with a salad bar from a diner, but this one is top notch! It has fresh fixins and ive seen the guy change it periodically. The staff is very friendly. Service is spot on. Really nothing negative to report here.

  7. While in Hackensack for a hockey tournament we gave this diner a try. We are glad we did. It's old and dinerish, but the food was delicious and the service was impeccable.

I had a hollandaise omelet served with toast and potatoes. My daughter had a breakfast wrap and the husband had french toast and sausage.

Prices were reasonable and restaurant was clean.

Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

  8. Still great service even late late at night. They offer alcohol late at night too. Very cool.

The chicken noodle soup was delicious. Perfectly salty and great flavors. Would deff get a bowl next time. It was super good.

The basil pesto chicken sandwich with sundries tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil pesto mayo, and I think roasted red peppers(not too sure) was delicious !! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted over each side of the bun. I didn't even know how to pick it up and eat it first so I munched on their perfectly crispy fries. I ate the sandwich like a bagel haha. Didn't even finish it.

The side of bacon is decent. They give you a good amount.

Their prices are reasonable to the amount of food you get.
