Quality traditional pizza bar slice. I would probably list this place as a top 5 for best pizza in Queens. It is a little out of the way but I think its definitely worth the trip if you're into pizza and pizza is your thing. Their slices are $2.75 and fresh. The crust is the fluffy wide kind of crust. The cheese and sauce are very well balanced. I can see myself ordering a pie in the near future.
When we moved to Queens from the Bronx in 1960 we discovered New Park Pizza 4 blocks from our house. At the time a slice of pizza cost 15¢ and I think a Coke was 10¢. Two slices and a soda was 40¢ so when yer parents gave you 50¢ you had 10¢ left over to go to the arcade down Crossbay Blvd.
Fast forward 56 years. A slice is now $2.75 but the pizza remains unchanged. The original owner (the old man) passed away many years ago but his family still owns the business, the original pizza oven is still there and that is what makes this pizza so good. The crust is perfectly chewy and does not flop down when folded and picked up. The sauce has just the right amount of tang and is not too sweet. The cheese is right on point. Put this all together and you get one amazing slice.
When my dad comes to visit from Florida this is his first stop after leaving JFK airport. If you find yourself in Howard Beach be sure to stop in for a slice. It's even worth a trip from anywhere in NYC. If you happen to be driving down Crossbay Blvd. on your way to Rockaway Beach you will pass New Park, go get an after beach slice. And you won't have to wait two hours for a pie like that place in Brooklyn.
Go give New Park a try, you won't regret it.
If you don't know already, I love pizza by the slice. This place has exactly that + full pies if you want em. I walked in because it was right next to the customer I was visiting and grabbed me one slice of pepperoni and one slice of plain. I wanted to try the white pizza but they said they were out. If you want simple, delicious pizza this is the spot.
All these years been passing this place when out and about or working but never tried their world famous pizza.
Then the day came when my fiancé suggested we go on our way back from atlantic city. Well I can't lie, it was everything and more that I have always been told. The pizza was fresh and tasty. Sauce was great – no complaints here and I am not a huge pizza buff – but after this I would be hesitant to have any other pizza – yes it was that good! 5 stars from me!
Their pizzas are spot on! We always have trouble finding a good place to eat around Ozone Park, but I am so glad that there is New Park Pizzeria. We're New Yorkers, so an occasional craving for a good slice of pizza is very normal. This place hits the spot whenever I have that craving, with their fresh out of the oven, thin, crispy, flavorful and cheesy pizza. I've tried both the regular and the white pizza and they're both pretty awesome. There's outdoor and indoor seating and service is extremely quick, so it is perfect whether you choose to dine in and indulge in a few slices or if you're making a quick stop.
Just tried New Park Pizza for the first time. What have I been waiting for. Definitely one of the best pizza joints in Queens. I went with 2 regular slices, no toppings, so I can get the true flavor of the ingredients. It's thin, not so sweet sauce, with a fresh tasting mozzarella cheese. This place has been around since the 50's. I'll definitely check it out again when I'm in Howard Beach. Great job guys
We just left the airport and wanted an excellent pizza place with parking and we are so glad we ended up here! It is a no-frills place with the perfect New York style pizza that we were looking for. The prices were also excellent and the service was great, our pizzas were out in five minutes! Definitely a must visit if you want somewhere without the craziness of the city!
The lesser-known New York pizza find that not nearly enough people rave about, but it's up there for the folks who know about it. It's remained consistently on the level for the 15 years I've sporadically been coming here, and I am led to believe it has been this way for many years prior. It's leagues above most corner pizza spots in this city and is a true dark horse in the running. From textures and flavors to cheese/sauce ratio, they always get it right.
If you haven't yet been here, snap out of it. Go.
