There is either new management or the deli has undertaken a huge overhaul.
It is no longer your typical bodega: They have gourmet sandwiches at reasonable prices, delicious produce (that you actually want to buy), and a clean environment.
It has changed the way I feel about the neighborhood, and I am truly grateful for the changes they have made.
You know I really wanted this place to be great – they have a wonderful selection of food, some groceries, and juices, but I walked away thinking it's about average. They is nothing wrong with average and if you live or work in the area is a great option for a quick snack or some least minute shopping.
The menu is quite expansive for a place of this size and they have all kinds of breakfast and lunch sandwiches available. The also have a coffee bar and a juicer so you don't have to just feet a sandwich. All of the meat is from their deli so you can also just buy that to take home with you. The vast majority was Boar's Head so IG you don't like that brand you will be out of luck.
The guys behind the counter were very nice and willing to make any change to the sandwich without charging crazy amounts for it. They also seemed to know quite a few people who came in and out so it really does feel like a community place. They are only a few tables at the front where you can sit to drink your coffee or eat your sandwich but it seems like most people took it to go.
I think maybe it was the quality of the bread and cheese that was underwhelming. I'm not sure, but it was still an overall good experience. Like I said, I think it's a great option in the area and it's clearly frequented by those within the community.
Some really good sandwiches here. Tough to park, but there are some real good eats here.
