  1. Located in a nice farmers market, tucked into the front corner, there are two Asian men that did not speak much English, I knew I was in the right place. They only have to go, but it doesn't take long to make sushi, I waited 5 min for 5 pieces of salmon sushi and a salmon roll. The salmon was a perfect color and delicious, very fresh. They also gave me free edamame with my order which was very nice of them. They have some interesting rolls, and I will definitely be back to try them. They are also competivily priced for sushii, not that sushi is ever really cheap.

  2. Previously lived in Elmwood Park for four years down the highway from Jersey Farmer's Market and never thought to go inside.  Well, thanks to Yelp I plan to frequent both New Tokyo and the market often.

Pickled ginger and wasabi were among the freshest I've ever had; spicy and delicious.  Ordered Nuclear Protein, Catepillar, and California rolls, and took a package of shumai home.  As others have said they give out free edamame.

Rolls were definitely fresher than other places I've eaten sushi from.  You can taste the quality in every bite.  Preparation was quick; less than ten minutes for everything.  Price points are comparable if not slightly less than other sushi restaurants in the area.  But, perceived value is higher because of the fresher and higher quality ingredients.

Menu is a little smaller than what I would like, but their offerings are vastly different incorporating different fruits and vegetables.  Side by side I'll come back to New Tokyo over Maguro and that's saying a lot.

  3. This place is always a pleasure to go to. The employees are so nice and pleasant and really do care about their customers. Easily and by far the best sushi takeout spot in the area.

  4. Excellent sushi. Very fresh and extensive menu. Nuclear Roll is amazing. Great value probably the best valued sushi in town.

It's take out only in a little stand inside the farmers market.

    Would recommend

  5. Tasty sushi, decent prices. If you spend enough they'll throw in some edamame.

I didn't like the soy sauce, off brand maybe? I don't know, just salty as hell.

I was one of the first people here on a Saturday, and e rice will still a tad warm on my roll, but didn't make much of a difference. I love that they put bonito flakes not he Mexican roll, it adds so much flavor.

  6. I have been coming here for lunch for almost 2 years, at least twice a week.  The owners are the nicest couple you could meet. I genuinely love their sushi.  The rice is warm, as it should be, and soft to chew. The fish is the freshest as well. I should have really written a review a long time ago for this sushi spot, but I digress. If you order from here, you will not be disappointed. I love their food.

  7. A few things to know

    1. It's a "stand" located inside the farmers market
    2. They are cash only
    3. They do take phone orders

I've been coming here for years! I used to work at the gym around the corner and now I actually live really close to here.

Their sushi is always fresh! Prices are reasonable, pretty much the same as all other local sushi places.  You can put in your order and do some grocery shopping!

    Enjoy!
