  1. Decent fried chicken at a good price. Skin is thin and crispy, not heavily breaded in contrast to KFC. The meat was good quality, although on the less flavorful side. The sides were nothing to write home about – average and a little bland, especially the mac and cheese. If KFC is 3-stars, then this is a step above, but doesn't stand significantly above the back.

Very quick service. A hole in a wall so I would recommend takeout especially because only metered parking is available, although it's free in the evening and on Sundays.

  2. I was introduced to this NYFC branch by a family member after arriving from California. While it's not the greatest chicken you will find, it's pretty darn good to fill a craving or if you're looking for a cheap box of chicken.

Fried Chicken: The chicken here is pretty consistent: Slightly crispy, salty, greasy, but tasty. You could buy just the wings or a mixed box of chicken with rolls and your choice of sides. You're lucky if you happen to walk in with a fresh batch on the heating rack. If not, you get what's on the tray; the same applies to the potato wedges. The rolls that come with the chicken are soft and come with all orders for chicken. If you want chicken with a side, you could order as little as 2 pieces of chicken with 1 roll and 1 side or as much as 30 pieces with 10 rolls and 5 sides. If you just want chicken only, it's the same thing but with no sides; you can order up to 150 pieces if you're ordering just the chicken.

Philly Cheesesteak Combo (w/ everything) ($6.99): It's good. Not the best, but certainly not the worst either. If you order it "with everything" on it, then it comes with chopped bell peppers, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. Personally, I don't like the tomatoes on the sandwich since it makes the bread a bit watery and soggy, but you could still taste the beef. It's a decent sized sandwich for a filling lunch.

Beef Gyro: I'm a litlte disappointed with the gyro. While the gyro itself is pretty big, it's stuffed mostly with vegetables. If I counted it right, I only saw four thin medium length slices of beef in the entire sandwich; the rest was slices of onions, lettuce, and chunks of tomatoes. Perhaps if more sauce was added, I might have enjoyed this a wee bit more. It also comes with fries.

Macaroni and Cheese: Get a few sachets of salt, because it's pretty bland; plenty of noodles and cheese, but this was pretty flavorless without any salt.

The place itself is on a corner, so you can either park at the metered parking in front of the establishment or a few yards away on the street or the validated parking lot around the corner. There are a few tables and window seats inside, but I usually get my food to-go.

  4. Great little spot for excellent fried chicken. Made to order. Have great specials and combos. they are open till midnight or later everyday. Which is rare for this area.
