One hipster afternoon in one hipster area… So we were waiting to get into Five Leaves down the street and decided to whet our whistle at this little divey bar. They serve strong drinks. Not the best drinks, but strong if that's your thing. Also the bartender was quite nice.
I can't see myself eating here because this place really looks like a bar with food not a food place with a bar. But if I were in a hipster mood and in this hipster area, sure, why not drown my sorrows here…
Walking into this restaurant, I expected much more than I received.
The high point was the Bloody Mary. The mix is homemade and full of fresh tomato flavor. Just the way I like it.
However, my egg sandwich left a lot to be desired. The bacon was mostly fat and my egg came over hard when I asked for it over easy. The best part of the sandwich was probably the Manchego cheese, which I picked off and ate separately.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is so intriguing – it's open air, intriguing triangle shaped interior and the decor gives an ode to dis de lots muertes.
This is an adorable little bar in greenpoint. It's very convenient to where we stayed so we went for a nightcap. It's very cozy and cute inside. There are a few tables and bar seating and it's an intimate setting. Perfect for a small group or date night. I had the Paloma which was delicious and fresh, I would definitely get that again. The "tequila fling" with reposado and honey was also very good. For a little snack we had the chips and salsa and guac, the chips were thick and crispy. The guac could have used some salt, but this is not an unusual thought for me when eating avocados. The tacos looked really tasty. On top of the fantastic food and drink, our server was the best! I will definitely come back here next time I visit!
There are many things working for Nights and Weekends–the location, the decor, the vibe, and the varied cocktail menu. What didn't work for me were the portion sizes–my fish tacos were smaller than expected for the price, and dry. But the drinks were strong, and our waitress was friendlier than other reviewers have experienced–she joked around with us and checked in on us many times. My friend and I sat and chatted for awhile and never felt rushed. I would come again and order more to fill me up, or would be content only having drinks in the cute setting.
Saw another reviewer saying this place is the next best thing if you can't wait for 5 leaves, I think that would be the saddest thing for Greenpoint. You think you've walked into a lounge somewhere in Hells Kitchen, but it's much more casual. The music is so loud, you forgot you

Night and Weekends is located at the prestigious 1 Bedford avenue. It's the Flat Iron of Williamsburg in the triangle area between Nassau, Bedford, and Manhattan. There was plenty of outdoor seating. The crowd were many younger, hipper individuals. The bartenders were friendly. I had a Jim Beam Rye and Tiff had a Frozen Pina Colada. They didn't have shishito peppers.
It's been a long time since I stopped here, but figured it was a solid bet when everyone was out of town last weekend.
I met a few friends here for brunch and thought it was still a very tasty joint, if you don't have to wait forever for a table.
The staff was super nice on Saturday at around 2pm. There was plenty of room at the bar and we patiently waited for a table for about 20 minutes. We enjoyed delicious bloody marys, which were expensive at $11 each but you can select whatever vodka you want. Hello Titos! It was so good I ordered a second, d'oh!
The menu has changed a lot since I first went. I was sad to learn they no longer did the duck rice and beans dish, which I thought was fabulous. I went with the huevoes rancheros instead, which is dairy-free (yay cause dairy is not my friend). For an extra $3 they'll pile on their homemade chorizo, trust me – get the chorizo.
The egg was perfectly cooking, the tortillas were crispy, the sauce delicious and everything was overall perfect. It was a really great dish and very filling. Everyone at my table was pleased with their dishes too. Someone ordered the fish tacos, which they loved and they were all about the cheese bread. Couldn't eat it, but they were in heaven.
So yeah, it was a great time; and would definitely come back (on a day when everyone is outta town).
The staff here is awesome. They make this place fun more than anything! Super nice and will shoot the shit with you for awhile if you're sitting at the bar.
I've only been here for Sunday day drinking, it's a great place to end off your weekend if you're looking for something chill with reasonably priced drinks. Their cocktail selection is great and they have a good wine list too.
I came here this past Sunday with 5 other girlfriends and the bartender was coming around to take our second order round of drinks, and I said I didn't want one but he brought me a free drink on the house anyway! Super nice.
I yet have to try the food but have heard really good things. I'll be back!
