“Cool decor – very dark woods, brick, small historical portraits framed, silver matte wall treatments, masculine feeling.”
“The pasta is perfectly al dente and the sauce is the perfect balance between meat and tomato.”
“My friends live in NYC and Italian food is so prevalent in the city, but they agreed that Nino's 46 was a pleasant exceptional find!!”

We loved our dinner here on Christmas Eve! Nino's is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Fifth Avenue and all of its holiday window decorations (as well as Rockefeller Center) so we had a great stroll around the city after.
I ordered the blue crab and bacon pizza, which was quite delicious. The bacon was not as crispy as I would prefer (the American way), but the softness of the pork went well with the juicy crab meat. The pizza dough was also great – I like my pizzas to have some dough to them so that I can munch on the crust and this one delivered on my carb craving.
I would suggest making reservations as the restaurant was quite busy when we visited.
Sat at the bar, had great service, delicious food, awesome beers, and a great time. The branzino is amazing! All the food looked so good. My friend trd the truffle mac and fried chicken and was very happy
Delicious burrata, DELICIOUS kale, great prosecco.
Had a dinner solo during a work trip – profoundly enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food.
A friend and I stepped out of the office today to enjoy an off-site lunch. We both weren't sure what to have so I decided Italian was a safe bet and looking at the Yelp page it seemed like a decent place to sit-down and eat.
Walking up West 46th Street, I stopped to pause since I noticed their yellow and white awning was missing (per the Yelp photos). Instead, the awning had been updated to a simple black one and walking in I immediately felt reluctant. There was a take-out vibe since a cashier and deli-like kitchen area was present until I spotted a girl who greeted us. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were able to sit down. Further into the venue I noticed that this is in fact a some-what proper restaurant with tables and chairs and cute coal oven. Depending where you sit, you could watch one of the staff members make pizza.
The tables were close together and we had no choice but to squeeze between two chairs. These people didn't bother to move in but I suspect even if they did it would still of been a tight space. Sitting down, we were given menus and moment to decide on drinks. Two waters came out with my requested lemon wedges in their own little bowl along with one Pepsi. Our waiter was very attentive and came back a few times anxious to get our order in. Eventually we decided we would share an appetizer and get two separate entrees.
My friend ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana: eggplant covered in bread crumbs topped with two large slices of fresh mozzarella and a side of fresh spaghetti Pomodoro all on the same plate. She enjoyed it and found it tasty but thought that the portion was big enough for two people. Side note, she's very petite so maybe this was a fine portion but looking at it, I'm sure two people could have shared it. Meanwhile, I ordered a gluten free (I'm not a gluten freak, it just happened to be served this way) Tuscan Kale Salad: boquerones aioli, pecorino and pine nuts. I ended up adding grilled chicken for $3 for protein. The portion turned out to be too big for me, so this will be my lunch tomorrow as well. My one gripe is that the dressing was all at the bottom and tasted like cescar salad dressing, which was a bit odd. Both dishes were tasty but nothing exciting or cool given that this place is supposed to be a modern Italian cuisine. However, the best part was the shared Truffled Mac and Cheese bites with lemon Dijon sauce on the side. The bites were large, fried balls of mac and cheese. I wish it were cheesier, since it wasn't oozing with cheese like I had expected it too. Not to say it was dry but more cheese action would have been nice. The reason why this was the best is because the bites were so flavorful and the texture and flavor of the bread was great. We ended up getting both meals to go and overall thought it was a nice place to go and food was good. Not exactly a place where I'll be rushing back to go to, since there are other places in the area that are true to what they represent as their cuisine.
.
I really liked this place – it had a good menu. It's a small restaurant, so the tables are very close, but this is fairly common in NYC.
Ambiance was nice and service was great, too.
They had some entrees, – fish, steak, etc – then fancy pizzas and a few pastas. The appetizers all sounded good, too.
I had the mushroom and prosciutto pizza. It was pretty big, so I had leftovers.
Overall, I would come back here. It was a good experience.
Based on yelpers came for dinner on Tuesday evening. Made res for 7:15 pm based the yelpers recommendations.
Place was busy and festive. Real good vibes. The front service and waiters were up to par. The food outstanding. The spaghetti with sausage outstanding. The chef/owner really takes pride in his establishment. He checks his patrons and takes suggestions very seriously.
This place is a winner. It's on west 39 St between 5th and 6th Ave.
This is a hidden gem. If ur in the mood for Italian food, or just a really good meal run don't walk.
Lunch on a weekday was packed. Very very loud. Food was delicious. We had a gluten free bolognese and the sauce was to die for. Also shared a salad with walnuts, apples and vinaigrette, which was very tasty.
Mom had ordered the chicken parm with pesto. I stole a bite and it was delicious.
Service was ok. Waiter didn't seem at all happy for some reason.
I came to Nino's with s group of 4 on a Friday night before going to see a show at Radio City. We had a 6:45pm reservation and arrived a little early. It was a hard to stand and not be in the way because there was many other diners waiting, and it's a small area to wait in. The restaurant is small, but accommodated groups of all amounts of people.
We were seated a little after 7pm and immediately greeted by our server. He brought us menus, and asked if we wanted sparkling or flat water and also took our orders of cocktails. We ordered two glasses of Pinot noir and a Cosmo, the drinks came quick. For apps we ordered the truffle mac & cheese bites, calamari, and the burrata. MY GAWDDDDD the mac&cheese bites and the burrata were out of this world…delicious. The burrata was the literal best I ever had, they served it with caramelized onions and raspberries which I was skeptical about when I first saw it, after I tasted it I wanted to get a whole other order.
As an entree I got the San marzano tomato personal pie, my sister got the Cacio de Pepe pie and my mom and aunt split the rigatoni and a Caesar salad. All of the food was really good, I think the pie I got was better than the Cacio pie. We didn't have room for dessert, but they did have a nice dessert selection on the menu.
The service was good, and the atmosphere was really nice as well. The owner came around to our table a couple of times to see how we liked everything. I would definitely come, and next time I'll try the pie with the vodka sauce!
