  1. Nino makes the best grandma pie in Bay Ridge and possibly the universe. I've since moved to Queens and after 2+ years of exploring haven't found another pie that could compete with Nino's. Another note-worthy menu item is their garlic knots.

The garlic knots (4 for $2.00) are enormous. They are (delightfully!) drenched in olive oil and big chunks of fresh garlic. If you're a pepperoni fan you can get them sliced in half and made as a fresh mozz and pepperoni sandwich. Definitely ask the notably friendly dudes behind the counter to throw that shit in the oven for a minute.

The Granmama pie is the bomb. The slices are square. They are thin, crispy and perfectly seasoned. This is one of the only slices I don't find myself reaching for whatever seasoning shakers are available.

I've been a customer here for many years and plan on continuing my patronage for many more as long as they keep that Granmama pie on the menu.

  2. Despite its proximity to my old apartment I very rarely ate at Nino's unless someone else wanted to go. I've been five times and I can distinctly recall each person who dragged me to the establishment. It's not that it's a bad spot, I just don't eat pizza all that often. I love it, but I tend seek out other food more.

I always forget that this place accepts credit card since I very rarely ever get anything over $10. The pizza is alright, pretty greasy, and I find that even when they reheat the slices the cheese doesn't get ooey gooey. My favorite thing to get from here is the garlic knots, they're super delicious and super cheap. Less than $3 for four and that's enough to fill me up. However, I would appreciate it if the people working here didn't try to hit on me. It makes coming here a bit unpleasant.

  3. If you want some of the best pizza in Brooklyn then this is the place to go. It's not the best, but pretty damn close. Their vodka slices are my favorite. They do quite a few things well. I wish they would stay open a little later at night. I'm constantly walking in as they're cleaning up.

  4. I am totally disappointed in this pizza place. It was delivered very sloppy and distasteful.

Will never order from them again. Yuck.

Order from Grandma Pizza is the 70's on 3rd. Super super superior then this place.

  5. Simply put this is my within a 100 yard walking distance pizzeria and I've always enjoyed their offerings over the past ten years that I have been at my apartment that's located right nearby.

Generally speaking I go with the traditional round cheese pie and seldom get any additional items on it, but when I do I opt for either sausage, pepperoni or meatball (can you tell I am not Vegan?).  There was one occasion that I chose their "Special Pie" which has all of the above options along with peppers and mushrooms but this is a pricy choice and a bit much in terms of filling.  Not that this is a bad thing.

They offer some other nice dining choices here and some are the calzones, garlic knots (which I love) and even a special garlic knot with pepperoni on it.  There are potato croquets, pinwheels and a few assorted types of specialty pizzas that are made regularly for sale (Grandma, Chicken and Broccoli etc.).  These are tasty and I have tried the more gourmet type choices on a slice by slice basis.  Their garlic knots are loaded with the tasty vegetable but make sure that you ask them to give you a cup of the marinara sauce as well since it adds to the enjoyment.

Space wise there are about a half dozen tables and they keep the place clean.  I have not really sat down and eaten here in some time unless its a quick food stop with a friend who wants to do that right there.  No complaints on this of course.

Overall I feel Nino's does right by their customers.  The prices are reasonable by comparison to other pizza places in the vicinity.

  6. Are you looking for a quick good quality slice of pizza in Bay ridge? Well, Nino's delivers exactly that!

Parking is a biatch so bring quarters or a credit card, and a prayer book that you don't get a ticket if you decide to double park. All in all it is a very good slice of pizza, the only reason Its not 4 stars is because of course I've had better. On the positive note better pizza comes with a more expensive price tag. If your looking for a reasonable price of pizza that tastes really good stop at Nino's.

Indoor seating, good pizza, friendly staff, good drink selection.

    Go stuff you're face!

  7. Growing up in Brooklyn, I acquired a distinct taste for what is considered a Brooklyn style pizza. No, I'm not talking about Domino's mockery attempt.  I'm talking about the mom and pop pizzeria that knows how to make a crispy thin crust with a good balance of cheese and tomato sauce. When you fold the pizza like a sandwich, the oil slowly trickles down to the tip. Finally, as you bite into it, it's a harmony between the thin bottom crust of crispy goodness and the soft yet chewy and cheesy yumminess.  And Nino's offers just that. Quality cheese pizza that brings back memories of the good old days of Brooklyn.  I have yet to try their Grandma's since so many people have raved about them. Grateful that this place is in the neighborhood.

  8. Bumping to 4-stars as I recently returned and the pizza was not at all greasy. I still feel it tastes better when prepared fresh and eaten in the store, but what pizza doesn't? Nino's definitely makes some good pies and I will be back for sure.
