Noches de Colombia is a staple for Colombian cuisine. Pan de Bono, bandeja paisa…all deliciousness and worth every cent you pay.
Dining in during peak times may require some additional time seeing as they get pretty packed, however, they do offer takeout and delivery if needed.
Whether you're looking for a full meal or a quick bite, Noches is always a solid choice.
I've heard a lot about this chain but, can't say I was extremely tempted to come here. It was my aunt's birthday so went with a pretty large crowd and it was pretty much exactly what I expected. I will say this though: don't come and order the sangria if (1) you're expecting to just have 1 or (2) wish to leave without feeling buzzed. It's god damn delicious but does a number on you. This lovely alcoholic beverage is just what the doctor ordered when you've had a long day at work.
We ordered 2 Picadas Noches (pork cracklings, fried sausage, fried steak, and a few tostones) to start. Standard but especially loved the dipping sauces. I had the Camarones al Ajillo (Shrimp in Garlic Sauce) alongside sweet plantains and avocado as my side options. The shrimp were yummy and the portion was great. For everyone else that ordered steak, fish or chicken, the all took food home because these plates are much bigger.
I think people chose to come here more so to be in a big group and have a good time rather than have an amazing food experience but, that might be a stretch. I personally don't see how this empire has grown so rampantly with 15 locations all over NJ but hey, that might just be my inner-food snob speaking.
Came here with a friend for the first time after suggesting Colombian food to me. I am no where near an expert on Colombian but I had a very nice experience. We ordered some cheese bread (not found on the menu) with this great consistency that blends the cheese and the bread together without the cheese being too overpowering. We then shared an appetizer and meat platter mix. The appetizer had some chorizo, fried pork belly, empanadas, and fries while the meat platter (suggested by the waiter) had some well seasoned (and juicy) chicken, beef skirt, shrimp, and fried plantains.
I decked a few stars because it took quite a bit of time to get the order in and for some reason the main dish came at the same time as the appetizer. Also, we asked for water and got good ol Poland Spring that we paid for. All in all, will come again but maybe order some good drinks (like those smoothies) and be more patient.
Came to Noches a few weeks ago to this location. I have been to the Englewood location a few times so I knew what i was getting into.
It was a Saturday night and my party of 3 arrived at 6 on the dot. The place was packed already. The hostess told us the wait was 30 min and that there is a bar upstairs we can wait at.
We walked upstairs and to our surprise was a HUGE space, with a big screen tv. I assume they use that as a dance area on certain nights. We each got a beer, and then within 5 minutes of sitting down, our buzzer rang for our table. Quicker then the 30 minutes we were told. Great!
We were guided to our table, it was a little tight but just due to the fact that there were so many diners present.
Now this is where a bump in the road occurred. We looked over the menu, and decided on drinks first. No waitress yet to greet us. Ok we keep looking over the menu. Still no waitress. It has been probably almost 15 minutes until a very sweet waitress came over to take our order. Yes i know they were busy, but still a little acknowledgment would of been nice instead of us getting the feeling we were being ignored.
Anyways we ordered sangria, it was good. Nothing amazng. And i got the typical Colombian dish. It has everything one could want at a place like this, I love the sausage that comes with it, but everytime i order it the egg is always over cooked. Minor glitch, nothing major.
I still really like the restaurant, but i prefer the Englewood location.
this place has huge portions! if you are a meat lover, this is the place for you! many of the items are all meat options. it tends to get pretty packed so make sure you go early. the sauce that they give you is like crack, i put it on everything and it made everything even more delicious!
Sunday brunch with the gang. Colombian food it is. Good service and friendly people along with tasty food make for a great time. Only complaint is they again ran out of soup. At 1:00pm it's way to early to run out. Come on. We will try again cause I love it.
The food is consistently good but not outstanding. Take it from a Colombian. Here is what bothers me about Noches:
1. There are several locations and all of them offer inconsistent food.
2. The Englewood location is THE best operated restaurant in the chain. Why not make them all equally as good?
3. The service can be a little rushed when they are busy. It's not their fault…it's just really busy sometimes and it is a family-friendly restaurant accommodating children, etc.
The food is definitely fresh, however. The baked goods are good. My problem is mostly with the entrees.
It's time for Colombian restaurants to focus on execution vs serving huge quantities of food. It would have been nice for Noches to take Colombian food to the next level.
Come for a large lunch and take a doggie bag with you for dinner or a hearty breakfast. Don't expect high quality offerings but rather a good value for your money.
This Noches location seemed livelier than the other ones I've been to. It had a good crowd and awesome drinks! I got some sangria and enjoyed it. I didn't really eat, but the empanadas (or I thought they were….) were yummy. There wasn't anything to complain about; everything was good.
