Noches De Colombia – for those who don't know – it is a pretty popular chain of Colombian Restaurants in the NY/NJ metro area. The food is usually good, representing Colombian cuisine and flavors. Unfortunately for now, I had to give this brand new gem a three (3) star rating – allowing them room for growth as the get settled in and better equipped to handle crowds. Whilst the brand new restaurant is beautiful and with a well planned layout, the service is slow and the food lacks that Colombian flavor that I do look forward to. In fact – this was the first time I had not finished my meal and brought home the leftovers. The Frijolada was essentially a meat bowl – thank god for the avocado. The food was soggy and oily and sadly tasteless. The morcilla was overcooked and when presented resembled that of a turd (I didn't even take a photo of it as it looked to gross). There seems to be a lack of communication which I now will get better as they work out the kinks. On a positive note, there's plenty of parking both in the rear and front of the restaurant and music plays outside as well…. And yes the music is loud in the restaurant too. I look forward to returning to Noches de Colombia in Hackensack and revamping my review – but for now – I'll continue going to Villas de Colombia or Pollos Marios in Hackesack.
