What a find! Although it appears the secret is out as we showed up early @6pm to people already waiting for a table! Luckily they gave us glasses & we opened our wine as my friend & I couldn't wait 20 minutes! This is a pizza place with a very nice attached large dining room that churns out pizza & delicious italian food for a good value – fresh seafood & the veal was able to be cut w/a fork! Complimentary brushetta, delicious bread & good salads were also provided by Nonna's – great tough! Definitely will go back as the Nonna's pizza looks incredible!
Got the Nonna's pizza, which was extremely good. I loved the flavor, as well as the crust. My wife and I ended up devouring the entire pizza pretty quickly, which is way more than we would normally eat.
They do sell by the slice too. Also sell a variety of other items you can purchase for takeout (pizza rolls, etc).
Will definitely return if I'm in the area.
Pizza is a huge need in my life and there are TONS of decent places to get it around town… but Nonnas is HANDS DOWN my favorite spot in the area!! I have my best friend to thank for referring me here after I moved to Morristown as she orders from them often for lunch.
We usually get the house special pie, which is basically a supreme pizza on steroids… SOO AMAZINGLY GOOD. It's a must try. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are, and I especially love their mushrooms and white onions. Their grandma/"Nonnas" pie is also a popular choice, with their rich tomato sauce making it just as flavorful.
A more recent discovery for us is their buffalo chicken wings. We first gave it a try while dining in with friends for lunch earlier this month. They bread it nicely which gives it some really great texture as you're munching away- where have these been all our lives?! An instant hit across the table!
5/5 stars. They know what they're doing here, people! Now if there was only a way for me to try the rest of their menu without sticking to my Go-To's…
They have gluten free pizza that's reasonably priced! It's a bit on the smaller side, but for a a few extra bucks to get your hands on a fresh gluten free slice – totally worth it! The service was fast and friendly and my fiance loves their complimentary bruschetta.
This is a crazy busy local italian restaurant which is jam packed by 5:30pm on weekdays. Now, I understand why. It's an awesome byob that gives a great bang for the buck.
Upon being seated, we had complimentary bruschetta and bread dropped off at the table. Next, we ordered 3 chicken entrées. Included with the meals was a nice green salad to start.
Chicken dishes were the saltimboca, francese, and savoy. All were generous portions served with potatoes, mixed zucchini and squash.
Service was very attentive and the waitstaff was great. Be sure to arrive early or be prepared to wait. Looking forward to returning and trying some pizza!!
This is a decent pizza spot. Good to get a quick slice. Everyone that works here are very friendly, the service was fast, and the food is consistent. Seems to be very popular with the locals, and many repeat customers which is always a good thing. The restaurant is very clean, and I like when you walk in you see them making the pizza right in front of you.
My friend recommended Nonna's saying that the pizza was outstanding. That was months ago and I live pretty far from Florham Park so planning a visit was a "back of the mind" kind of appointment. Tonight, that "gotta have pizza" thing kicked in so I dragged my wife out in the cold on a dark December Saturday night to explore a new restaurant.
The crowd at 8PM was 5 deep but the wait was surprisingly brief. After our friendly hostess found us a table, we scanned the menu but had already decided that the Nonna's pizza was going to be our choice. My wife also ordered a small house salad with balsamic dressing. When it arrived, we were both stunned at its size – it was enough for two and then some. We also received a small plate of excellent bruschetta and fresh bread and butter. The salad, by the way, was filled with olives, red peppers, cucumbers, onions and shaved/sliced carrots along with crispy lettuce. Worth ordering indeed.
When the signature Nonna's pizza arrived – their take on a Grandpa pie – the smell was intoxicating. I dug in after snapping a picture for the review and said, out loud, Oh My! Yes, it was really that good. Lots of care went into this pizza. Thin, perfectly charred crust topped generously by a chunky tomato sauce and excellent mozzarella and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan. The temptation to eat it all was there, but I limited myself to 3 slices, planning on a yummy Sunday snack.
For dessert, I asked our waitress for a suggestion and she said that the cannoli and zeppoli were her favs. We split a single zeppoli and wished we ordered 4. Hot, covered in powdered sugar and addictive.
The bill was a gentle $30 with several sodas, a salad and large pizza.
Definitely coming back.
Recommended. Highly recommended.
I've heard rumors for quite some time that there was an awesome pizza place in Florham Park, but being the skeptic I shied away. Stupid, Stupid me.
Had to drop my daughter off at a friend's house so my wife convinced my son and I to finally try Nonna's since we were in the area. "Ok" I said, even though I think the owner of our normal pizza joint felt a little twitch-like something was wrong in the universe. Anyway, we walk in the door and it's simply contained mayhem-there must have been 30 people waiting just inside the door either picking up or ordering take-out. The dining area was also packed – every single table packed with people smiling and eating pizza and Italian goodness…Why did we do this on a Friday night? We put in our name and were told 15-20 minutes…it was about 25, but here's a secret – it's worth the wait.
While waiting I took a stroll through the dining area to see what looked good…and it ALL looked good-appetizers, salads, soups, pizza, entrees – it ALL looked great. When we got to our booth, my wife pulled out a bottle of wine (yep, BYOB) and after a quick review of the menu we placed our order. My son kept it simple – a Sicilian slice and a slice of penne vodka pizza. I was allowed a small bite of each and we agreed that while the Sicilian was delicious (tasty sauce that wasn't too overwhelming or too sweet and the right amount of cheese) we did like our normal pizza place a little better – mostly because the Sicilian was a little thin here at Nonna's and not as crispy. The Penne slice however…a far superior taste-read why below.
My wife ordered Penne Vodka with chicken…Let's just say this – the vodka sauce here…could be the best vodka sauce I've had anywhere…and I've eaten my fair share of vodka sauce all over the country and this was excellent. Thicker than most places I've had it (they CLEARLY use more cream) it had a taste that made me want to not leave a single drop on the plate.
And my meal?? I almost don't want to tell you because it was so good! I ordered Nonna's Sunday Gravy – a huge portion of penne in their homemade sauce with two meatballs, a sweet Italian sausage and pork braciole (absolutely the last thing you want to order if you are dieting-portion size gets thrown out the window with this meal). After tasting the sauce, the meatball and the braciole, I was almost unwilling to give my wife and son a taste…because when something is this good you don't need a second opinion. Now I will say that the texture of the meatball seemed a little odd, but I think it was because they grind the meat up pretty fine…no matter, I got past it quickly because they TASTED delicious. And the braciole??? TO.DIE.FOR. Enough said.
Yeah, I cheated on my regular pizza place, and Nonna's isn't close enough to me to become my go-to place, but I WILL be back here (maybe not on a Friday night) because there are so many other items I want to try. Now, let's hope I can keep this a secret from my regular pizza guy. If you haven't been to Nonna's and you live in the area…YOU ARE MISSING OUT!
