  1. I ordered lunch from here the other day and when I went to pick it up, I was very impressed as to how nicely the inside was decorated.  There's a tree right next to the front desk and it's not tacky – gives it a pretty cool ambiance.

As most other Yelpers have mentioned, they have a good lunch special and I completely agree.  I got a lot of food for $11 – hot and sour soup and the vegetarian duck.

The hot and sour soup was very good – full of flavor, the perfect amount of spice, and pretty filling.  The vegetarian duck was OK.  I probably should've gotten the tofu since I'm not a big fan of fake meat, but it was tasty, chewy, and the veggies with the rice tasted well together.  I'll probably order lunch from here again.

  2. I was in the neighborhood and really craving Singapore Mei Fun. Saw their awning and figured they would specialize in noodles of course. The ambiance was nice and I could see why they would charge a little more for essentially Chinese (more Americanized that Chinese chinese) food.

The Mei Fun was satisfying and they were flexible in not including shrimp or bean sprouts in my order. Gave me a ton of chicken and the portion was pretty large. I wasn't expecting a ton of red chili flakes in my dish though, picked it all out. Have never had Singapore Mei Fun like that, usually it's a just hint of curry powder. Overall their quality is pretty good, I probably wouldn't go back for a "quick meal" though ($14, with tax for my dish). Two other tables ordered just dumplings, which looked decent (but around probably $6 for 4 or something), I'd rather go to Chinatown.

  3. ***Large portions, quick service, standard take-out food***

I came here to get take out food and it was quick service. Their lunch dishes are around $11. I had the pineapple fried rice and roast pork which was delicious.

  4. Fortune cookies can be a great way to predict the future! Considering this place was too cheap to give them out… It's safe to say they do not HAVE a future in Kips Bay.

My edamame was old, soggy and not "salted". My spicy noodle may have actually been a spicy poodle. I will never know.

Totally disappointing because the place is decorated really nice and your wouldn't guess any of this from the outside.

  5. Whenever I'm in this part of Gramacy and have a taste for Chinese I head here. My family has been loyally going here for many many years. The staff is attentive, caring and easy on the eyes. The room
Holds about 12 tables. A small Coi Pond stocked with lively and happy fish adds a relaxing vibe. The crispy noodles are always fresh and crunchy, served with bowls of sauce (not those packets). The food is always so very fresh and delicious. Ribs, fried dumplings, green beans as appetizers always pleases. I go here with family and we always  order plates and share. The lemon chicken is what Ebeth calls jokingly "donut chicken". A large, moist perfectly prepared breast that is deep fried like a donut and served with a sweet lemon sauce. Holy diabetes it's good! I always get the orange beef and chicken with broccoli. Spot on!

  6. Good average Chinese cuisine in Kips Bay area.  Lightning quick service for delivery and take away.
Noodles,  dumplings are their speciality.  Very good wonton soup,  good broth.  Good crystal shrimp dumplings (Har Kow), pork ginger dumplings.  The Singapore curry noodles have a healthy variety of pork, shrimp, chicken and vegetables.
**The Prices climb up, and up, and up, and up very often though…**

  7. I read the reviews on this place before ordering, and decided it may be my best bet for decent Chinese in Murray Hill. Delivery was fast, and the egg rolls were perfect – they met my expectations (more like hope with fingers crossed). I also ordered vegetables in brown sauce, which was good, didn't blow me away. Though the vegetable variety was great and they tasted fresh. It was a bit on the expensive side, $4 for ONE egg roll kind of expensive. I could see myself visiting for a soup to see how it tastes, or ordering in again if I really needed to fulfill a Chinese/Vietnamese kick.

  8. Another old standard from my 90's youth.  They moved a block north but still have some decent offerings.  I've had the lunch special 3 times since recently changed jobs and am now working in the area.

The dim sum is good.  The general's tsos is a bit too goopy for me.
