  1. This is what you would expect from any diner. I don't think the quality of the food is any better than it was 10 years ago when I ate here but still a good diner in the area. The service is also pretty good.

  2. Can't get any better than this 24/7 place at the edge of downtown Nutley. I used to be walking distance from here and a bunch of us got a breakfast of champions before going to one of those electronic dance ragers. Needless to say, that meal (and… other things) kept us going till midnight.

I had the eggs florentine benedict and it was hard to decide whether that was better or the side of home fries. I've also tried some of the burgers. Prices are amazing, staff happy, plenty of room and parking. Don't get lost in the 10+ page menu.

  3. The food here was okay but not amazing.

The menu is large with a lot of choices.

Portions are really large – we came for dinner and were given bread, soup/salad with an entree, as well as an extra side dish for the table (that day, it was beets). I had a chocolate milkshake and the Shrimp Parmesan. The shrimp was good but the mozzarella cheese had formed into thick congealed blobs which I really don't like. I had enough left over for the next night's dinner.

I should note that I got a marzipan horn pastry for the following morning's breakfast and while it was good, it was VERY sticky and the plastic wrap was hard to separate from the pastry.

  4. This was another classic New Jersey diner from decor to the menu.  However, they do serve various alcohol beverages, which was interesting to see.  Regarding the service, our waitress was friendly and the food came out quick.

I started off with the chicken pasta soup.  This was my favorite dish of the meal.  It had small pieces of chicken with little noodles and various vegetables.  The soup itself was great and the chicken was very tender.

For my meal, I ordered the Greek Wrap ($9.50).  It came with fries and I could not substitute without an extra charge.  The whole wheat wrap consisted of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions, and tzatziki sauce.  This was not the best.  It was very dry.  There was hardly any of the tzatziki sauce present if any at all.  For the fries, they were dry as well and not very crispy.

I also tried a regular garden salad and a turkey meal.  The garden salad was like a typical Greek salad, which I enjoyed.  The turkey meal was not bad.  It came with 2 sides along with stuffing.  The sides I tried were the corn and mashed potatoes.  They were good as well as the turkey.  The stuffing was bad.  It was very sweet.  I do not think stuffing should have that sweet concept at all.

I had a black and white cookie for dessert.  It was decent.

Will I go back?  Diner rules apply.

  5. Where have I been the last 2-3 years??? Corned beef hash, Belgian waffles, coffee and strawberry cheesecake…. Yes please!

Breakfast and Cheesecake at Nutley diner might be our new thing! A few weekends ago we were in search for some corned beef hash and stumbled upon this diner! Once I saw my homie Neal's review, I knew we were all set and good to go!

The diner is in the "busy" area of Nutley on Centre street. They have their own private parking lot and I suggest to avoid wait times go a little early or a little late around people's main dining times.

The food was great! The portions were on point! The service was awesome and the price was banging! The decor is pretty cool too! You must try the strawberry cheesecake, it fluffy creamy and just enough of sweet! We can't to go back and try the burgers and disco fries! Enjoy folks…

  6. This diner is slowly becoming one of my local favorites. It has what you want in a NJ diner, but they do it slightly better than the average diner – food is prepared well, large portions, good selection, welcoming service and open 24 hours a day.

It's also always calm inside. Nobody yelling. I don't hear the staff's nor the other customers' conversations too much. This is especially good after a night out. I just want to eat my corned beef hash/ omelette/ burger in peace.

  7. Good reliable food.  Just about the only place open last night during the blizzard. Last night hubby had bagels and lox with cream cheese, he said it was very good.  I got a patty melt and it was excellent.  cooked rare just the way I Iike it with lots of cheese and onions and nicely grilled rye bread.  This morning hubby had a goat cheese omelet with spinach, tomatoes, onions and home fries.  He liked it very much. I got the cheese blintzes with warm blueberry compote and sour cream.  Yummy delicious comfort food.    The service here is very good.    We are always greeted warmly and the servers are always attentive and helpful.   And the diner is open 24/7.  Can't beat that.

  8. I was raised on knowing what diners had to offer.  Particularly I was raised at this diner since I was born.  So I've had it both before and after it changed owners. Always a quaint place to be and the food is good 🙂
