  1. THE most disrespectful service and confrontation I've veer had. The bartenders and management are HORRENDOUS. I've given too many chances too many time. This place is literally THE WORST on Long Island. Been here so many times. Every time been treated like a second rate citizen. Worst bar on LI.

  2. This is a pub that is right off the Mineola LIRR station on the north side of the tracks.

I used to drop one of my hostesses here after work and we would have a few while waiting for the train – which usually turned into 10 trains later and a cab home as we always met some very interesting people and had a blast.

They have decent bar grub to boot.

  3. This place grosses me out. It's so dark and riddled with characters and just feels dirty (don't even try to use the bathroom). Perks include super cheap drink deals, train beers to go and the proximity to the train track so you can actually see your train arrive. That being said, it's a good stop for a beer before getting on the train and that's about all.

  4. I went to O'Carroll's Recovery Room yesterday after a friend wanted me to meet him there and I must say, it was even better than I expected. I arrived here a little before 4:30PM yesterday, after parking in one of the nearby metered spaces, which are free on Sunday as they do not check the meters. I entered and found O'Carroll's to be a bit on the small side, but clean and cozy at the same time, with a long bar stretching to the back of the restaurant, some high top tables on the other side of the wall, along with knick-knacks and an electronic jukebox on the wall. After grabbing a seat with my friend, I was welcomed by Jordan, the bartender, who was very welcoming and friendly. Since I wanted to have a bite to eat and the food was good according to my friend, she was happy to grab me a menu as well as inform me of the specials, which included a Filet Mignon, Grilled Shrimp Salad, and Lobster Bisque. While those specials sounded good, I decided to go for a Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich with no bun and no cole slaw, which cost $8.00 before tax and tip. Since I was driving home, I did not order any alcohol, so I was happy to order a Diet Coke instead. After Jordan took my order, I reveled in the fun and lively atmosphere with my friend, as we enjoyed the mostly rock and roll tunes which were played, including music from artists such as Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition, I also thought the other patrons, who my friend was happy to introduce me to, were very welcoming and added to the fun and festive atmosphere. Soon enough, my food arrived and I was pleasantly surprised, as I found the two nicely sized grilled chicken breasts to be moist, juicy, tender, and pleasantly spicy from the Cajun spices added to it. In addition, the sliced tomatoes were ripe, the lettuce was crisp, and the fries, while pedestrian, were crispy, salty, and fluffy on the inside. After my satisfying dinner, I stayed a little longer, but did not feel rushed at all. When it was time to pay the tab, I found that my dinner and Diet Cokes came out to $10.70, which was very reasonable! Before I left, I also used the restroom, which I found to be small, but clean and well-stocked. Another important note about O'Carroll's Recovery Room is that is conveniently located across from the Mineola LIRR, making it very convenient for commuters. Overall, I would definitely return here as the atmosphere was fun and festive, the service was friendly and welcoming, the food was solid, and the prices were not bad at all!

  5. Great convenient location, good drinks, and a good time.  Getting there is a little difficult and so is parking, but it's doable.  Definitely worth going again.

  6. This place has all the elements of a great Irish pub – large selection of beers on tap, good food, great service.

Generally I stop here while I wait for a train to go to the Knick game. I usually arrive with just enough time to have 2 pints (and with a nice tip it's still less than 1 beer at MSG! lol) and sometimes a bite to eat. My usual bartender is Marie and she is awesome and efficient – always on point.

When I finally relax and start feeling good after a long work day it's time to catch the train, but sometime I wonder why I would want to leave such a top notch pub… ORR starts my night off right!

  7. Nice cozy bar that's conveniently located near the LIRR.  They do need better seating cause near the back there are about two booths but other than that, seating can be a pain if your with a large group.

They do have a lot of people coming by there on Friday's.

    But overall a fanastic bar!
