  1. The food here is pretty good for the price, especially the quesadillas and the enchiladas with mole.

But the thing that sets it above is the guy who works here who is a total star.

  2. The Quick: So much delicious food! I absolutely recommend them for takeout as they are now my go to. I'm all about the taco al pastor. For ~ $12 you can get three tacos of your choice, and generous portion of rice and beans. Perfect for dinner. Enjoy!

  3. Tried cactus taco. Pretty fresh. Nice blend of mexican flavors. Excellent for the price.

  4. We came here on a Groupon – and looking at the previous reviews I wasn't too sure what to expect. At any rate, Thomas helped us and the tacos we ordered were fantastic!

Oaxaca has several locations around NYC but the Groupon can only be redeemed here and at one other one on the upper west. It had other restrictions too, but once we got passed those and learned the redemption requirements – we came and gave it a try.

    We ordered:
    Pollo Guisado taco (chicken)
    Shrimp taco
    Ceviche taco (fish)
Korean kimchi taco (with fish instead of barbacoa – this was a Special)

As tacos in Mexico usually are, all tacos were served with a double tortilla and a lime wedge.

Our favorites were easily the ceviche fish taco and the shrimp. Both were full of flavor and the shrimp was loaded with meat. Not that the other tacos were bad but these were just our favs. The pollo was loaded with chicken and topped up with pickled red onions. We will definitely be back. 🙂

  5. My colleague calls this place the "taco hallway," which is hilarious and kinda true. I come here occasionally for lunch during the week – it's fast and casual, with counter space only (no tables). As a lunch special, you get 2 tacos & rice/beans for $8.95 ($1 more for special tacos). I get the pollo & el pastor (pork), and both range from decent to delightful depending on the day–flavorful and good meat-toppings-tortilla ratios (for you taco lovers out there). Not always hot enough, and the tortillas aren't always soft. The major down side is that the service is terse and distracted, at best, and for those of you interested in ambiance, might wanna keep walking.

  6. The food is good but I always have an issue with my order. Always the damn guac! They always forget my guac…

  7. I got a group-on a few months back and it was going to expire YESTERDAY. SOOO i decided to go check it out. I told the nice man at the counter that I had the coupon. he scanned it and told me everything I could choose from.

I wanted the chicken mole, but it was a 1.00 extra and I didn't have cash. He mentioned that I could get three difference enchiladas or tacos. I choose to have one chicken, steak, and pork.

They don't drench them in any sauce and the flavors were pretty amazing actually. The cheese was perfect: while cheddar and nothing better. It was a little hole in the spot and believe me when I saw that. I almost thought they closed.

Lets see the service was quick and easy (after the chef was done telling his story),but I wasn't in a hurry so it didn't matter at all.

If you're in the area stop by and check them out.

GET THE PORK if you like PORK!!!

  8. Used a groupon and had three of the best tacos I have had Ina while! A must try is the ceviche taco and the shrimp. I also tried the chicken one which was juicy and packing mad flavor.

I tend to not eat the second tortilla, but might be a necessity with the chicken one. I will say, they say it's not spicy, but man all three had a kick. Enough where it's not like you are begging for water… But I definitely went through my bottle!

Looking forward to come back and eat more of this amazing food!
