“We sampled a bunch of the unique flavors they had– EVOO, miso cherry, and black pepper strawberry were all standouts.”

“I don't like grapefruit and am not a fan of jalapeños but their Grapefruit Jalapeño sorbet is pretty great.”

  1. Ice cream between buns WORKS! We came here on a thursday night after grabbing some dinner in the area. The shop is spacious with tall ceilings and decorated to look like a nostalgic ice cream shop from the past!

When you step in and take a look at the ice cream options you know right away they've got some odd and unique flavors. But whats more odd is that they serve their amazing ice cream between two warm Brioche buns! it might sound weird but its actually really good. The buns are sweet and they soak up all the ice cream that slowly melts as you eat. It is a really nice buttery bun. The ice cream it self is also amazing. Really smooth texture and strong flavors. We got the salt caramel and you can taste the caramel with bits of sea salt mixed in.

We went for the salt caramel ice cream "odd pocket": salted caramel ice cream wedged between two brioche buns and toasted. It is then cut in half and you get the option of one topping. (our server was a nice guy and gave us 2) so went went for the chocolate pearls and caramel drizzle. It was AMAZING! the bun is the perfect vehicle to hold the ice cream. First you get the warm bun then your teeth hits the smooth cool ice cream. Bliss.

Now aside from the odd pockets, they also serve loads of other ice cream variations from ice cream cookie sandwiches to ice cream cones. You can even choose from their signature creations.

Oddfellows is definitely serving some creative ice cream flavors and combinations. Next time I come back I have to try the ice cream cookie sandwiches!

  2. The blueberry buttermilk flavor is incredible, but I can never resist getting whatever variation of caramel flavor they're serving at the time. This visit, it was caramel chocolate toffee and I got it in a homemade waffle cone. Amazing.

  3. The Thai tea icecream was less sweet than what I expected but the sweetness was perfect. The saffron passion fruit and the maitake flavor were odd but "unique". Get the split scoop. Good icecream but not the best.

  4. I came here because a friend recommended it to me. I tried a lot of their flavors and I felt it was too sweet. I felt bad not buying anything after trying so many flavors so I got the saffron passion fruit. It tasted good into I got halfway through the scoop. If I come here again, i would try a different flavor.

  5. Ok, so this is the cutest ice cream shop ever with the most interesting & unique flavors that I've seen anywhere. I love that it's all homemade & the waffle cones are so good & a perfect way to enjoy your ice cream. I wanted to try several flavors although actually eating them all would be no easy task, so I said screw it & tried four: Peanut butter & jelly, Blueberry Buttermilk, Thai Iced Tea, & Coffee Crunch. The Peanut Butter & Jelly & Coffee Crunch were definitely my favorites hands down. I liked the blueberry buttermilk flavor but because of the buttermilk it had a slightly sour flavor & I found the Thai Iced Tea to not have as much flavor as I had hoped it would…also possible that since the flavors were melting in to each other I just didn't taste that pronounced flavor as much as I would have liked. I would definitely get some awesome ice cream again if in the area!

  6. Very interesting flavors. I had grapefruit jalapeño on waffle cone. I love it. Not for everyone though. My cousins couldn't care less of that. But then they were all happy with their choices. It's one of my must stop when I'm in town.

  7. My dad and I stumbled upon OddFellows while wandering around Williamsburg looking for a sweet treat. I intended on going with a scoop of chocolate in a cone, but my dad had other plans for us…the SUNDAE.

The menu didn't specify what came on the sundae, so we assumed it'd be the classic 2-3 scoops of vanilla topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. But oh lord, were we wrong. The concoction presented to us was made up of chocolate ice cream topped with a handful of chocolatey brownie chunks, a generous helping of cocoa krispies, all smothered in a piping hot fudge. It isn't for the faint of (chocolate) heart, so be prepared.

I guess they don't call it Oddfellows for nothin'!

  8. We came across this place by pure coincidence: after dinner we were walking and talking with an old friend when we noticed this place. We decided that our dinner was pretty small and we deserve to have some ice cream as reward for our small dinners! So we went in and first impression is the great smell of waffle cones they make on site. Really nice and decoration was also appropriate for an ice cream shop. So far so good. we first tried grapefruit Jalapeno sorbet ice cream… no dairy and really strange taste.. once our sense of adventure was defeated we decided for caramel chip flavor which was amazing but one scoop is too much for one person. Too sweet and sugary. I recommend this to be shared with your date for better bonding or with wife/husband for sake of your health! 🙂
