Nice little cafe situated off the beaten path. It's pretty packed on Sunday morning for brunch. We gave their pesto pizza a shot and it was decent. I do wish they had a bit more of a selection with it came to food but their coffee was pretty decent – a bit more acidic than I'm used to actually.
Clientele is a mixture of local seniors and young couples with their rugrats. If you're looking for a relaxing cup of joe, you're better off taking your coffee from Odradeks down the street to a park bench.
Regular coffeehouse hours needn't apply as I've screwed up this screwey schedule more often than I care to recount.
The cuteness and cozyness inside can only be rivaled by that on the television show Friends.
Meeting a friend who us nine out of ten times "fresh outta cash", he proceeded to order the Latte and after a look inside my wallet, I ordered a regular coffee.
Definately a place that a person with higher concentration levels than I, can get work done on their laptop. I find it more pleasurable to read a newspaper, a book of poems or the comic strip when I knosh on a doughnut and drink black coffee upon comfy couches.
Whatever your drinking or snacking pleasure calls for, you'll feel all the cozy acruchaments of your living room.
Great coffee and biscotti!
Odradek's definitely fills a void in the area and the fact that there are always people in there proves that. With that said, service tends to be a bit slow and coffee isn't the best. It's good, but not great. A small variety of sweets to choose from are decent.
Prices are on the high side and probably close to Starbucks.
This place would get five stars if it weren't for the dirty couches. For as long as I've been coming here, they have had the same bsamecouches.
That aside, I really like the baristas here. I could name them all but they all do a great job. This is really the only place of its kind in Kew Gardens. A cozy cafe with great coffee (food is kind of overpriced) with free WiFi where I can sneak in to do some work or hang out with a friend.
I woke up an hour earlier just to go out of my way to go to Kew Gardens and get a Spanish Latte.
It wasn't on the menu. At first, I was concerned. Once I asked though, they quickly responded "yes, we do" which was very relieving. I know, I know-#foodieproblems.
I got the largest size because I didn't want to get a small size and regret getting a large later. Unfortunately, I had the opposite experience. I got a large iced Spanish Latte at a whopping $6.50. It did not taste like anything but an average latte with a little extra sweetness.
It's warm and inviting inside, though. Very close to the LIRR.
Glad I got it out of my system, but I would definitely not go back. Prices are more than Starbucks. That's a tough feat.
For atmosphere alone, I give it 5 stars. I was surprised to find that they had comfortable couches you can sit on.
Minus one star for high prices. I ordered an iced jasmine tea which was $4 and some change. The cup was equivalent to a Starbucks tall size which they labeled a large. The tea was a bit bitter but I liked the jasmine aroma. They had quite a selection so I can't wait to go back to try the other teas. So far, I'm a fan and can't wait to go back and see what other things are good.
Cute little coffee shop near the Kew Gardens LIRR with good coffee and fresh baked goods. Fast wifi and really nice people!
