  1. Convenient spot to pop into for after-work drinks …

  2. Not my favorite place in Midtown. Drinks are fair. Service is often slow. With so many bays in this area,  I suggest trying something else. If you go with friends it might be fun.  I do like all of the police patches above the bar area.

  3. Loved this dive bar! I usually do sway towards hole in the wall bars lol they have character ! Trust me I'm still "booshie" hahaha.. Thankfully this place was located right across from the London hotel which was perfect bc if you drink in the hotel bar all night you can spend a pretty penny in there… Sat at tha bar and had a few brews.. Staff were cool peeps they even accommodated my request of putting on the news so I could see something quick.. I thought that was nice.. When I'm in the area I would def come back for a Stella 🙂

  4. Yes, I'm writing another five star review. I know, I know, the majority of my reviews are as such, but I can't help it, I love writing about my favorite places!
    Deal with it.
Old Castle has always been my go to Irish pub and where my love affair with Guinness began. I used to work in NYC's theatre district, and it was usually where we would end up stopping by for a drink or two, or three, after work.
It's cozy, but not a cramped cozy, more of a comfortable, homey kind of cozy. It's plenty spacious on the first and second floor.
The booths are awesome, but of course we always chose to sit at the bar, because the bartenders are top notch.
Even before they put in the booths, tvs, and other upgrades, they were the best neighborhood spot, and better still, they were just out of the way enough to not be discovered by the majority of tourists. Maybe a few savvy Irish ones, but THEY were always a blast to hang out around;)

  5. It's a really nice space and great for watching games because you can reserve tables beforehand and there are large TVs in multiple locations. However, beer selection is not very extensive and service is super questionable. It took our waitress just about 10 tries to bring everything we asked for and that was after 5 reminders about what we ordered…

  6. Had a quick dinner here last week before seeing "An American in Paris" on Broadway (great show, btw).  My sister and I arrived around 6PM and were promptly seated in the back section where the booths are located.  You also have the choice to sit up front near the bar where they have several high top tables.

I ordered a house salad and my sister and I shared the flat bread Margarita pizza (9" pie).  Our meals came out very quickly and although the pizza wasn't that hot the food was good.

While I wouldn't hurry back to this place for a regular lunch or dinner I definitely recommend this spot if you don't want to get caught in the tourist trap restaurants near Broadway shows.  We were finished with our food and paid the bill before 6:40, right on time for our 7PM show.

  7. This is a decently sized pub for the location.  It was pretty chill late on a weeknight but still had a good number of patrons.  They have your typical pub beer selections on tap: Guinness, Smithwick's, etc and have some happy hour specials Mon-Fri from 5 – 7 pm.

Everyone from the servers to the bartender were attentive. Popped into the women's bathroom and am happy to report that it was nice and clean (you never know in that area!).  This was a great spot to wind down the night.

  8. The food was just ok and the service was awful.

Not only did I not get the water I ordered at all, but the girl never once came back to ask how anything was so I couldn't remind her that she forgot.

She did come by when I was in the restroom and my husband was finishing his meal, but 20 minutes later we were both done and just sitting there waiting for her to even glance in our direction so we could signal that we wanted our check.

There are too many other cool places to pop into for a meal to waste your time here.
