  1. My fiance and I visit NYC every so often. We were told to check this place out. First time we went, we decided to sit outside in the back patio where we were told to seat ourselves.

The set up was very quaint and cozy. There were wooden tables with string globe lights woven across the sky. When it got dark out, it was very rustic yet cozy.

We ordered a couple flat breads and small dishes to munch on. We ordered the MDP and the West Village flat breads. The West Village was very good. All of us highly enjoyed it. We also ordered the parmesan herb fries which were so good. They were addictive lol

My fiance and parents love cold beers and it was nice that they have such a large variety. I, myself had a cocktail and took the recommendation of the server. I ordered the giggle juice which was very refreshing and light how I like it.

The bar inside got very busy but we never realized because the service was very attentive and quick.

This is now our go to spot every time we go to NYC. We always make a point to go and hang out there. We love it and so does everybody we have ever brought there!

  2. They have a great beer selection here! About 30 beers on draft and even more in bottles. Prices range from happy hour prices ($5) to crazy bottle re-fermented beers ($30). It's a great place to hang out downtown and try some new craft beer. I'm giving it a 3 star because the food takes forever to come out. I went there Friday afternoon and it was relatively empty for about 5/5:30pm. I ordered a beer and then waited for 20 minutes for my fries to come out.
It's understandable if it was crowded, but there was a smattering of people at the bar and that was it. I'd definitely go back for their beers, but will probably eat beforehand next time.

  3. This is a pretty decent place for American bar food. Located on Delancey street behind a closed black door, the restaurant is not the easiest to find! It was pretty empty for Friday dinner, so maybe people tend to come for drinks or late night food?

The servings are pretty generous. I saw the burgers on others' tables and knew that there was no way I could ever tackle that on my own. Instead, my friend and I shared three "small" plates – the squash gnocchi, the truffle oil fries, and the okra.

The gnocchi's texture was completely off. It wasn't the chewy texture that I love. Instead, it just had the same breakable texture as the squash.

The truffle fries were huge, so I'm not sure why it's considered a small plate. I really liked the texture of the fries but wished there was more truffle flavor. Nonetheless, these were incredibly addicting to eat. I was almost tempted to get another order of fries.

The okra was decent. It was a bit soggy for my preference, but given all the other heavy foods that we were consuming, the okra was refreshing to have on the table.

If you come on a warm night, definitely try to get a seat outside in the back section. The restaurant has no windows and poor ventilation. Our waters were not regularly refilled either so that didn't help. I felt super stuffed by the air towards the end of my meal!

  4. I "Can't Wait Another Minute" to write my review of One Mile House.  I really love the way they are set up, you might say I'm a "System Addict".  My beer club went there and had a great time.  They have such a wide variety of beers and we sampled most of them.  I'm surprised we didn't "All Fall Down".

In addition to the great beer, the service was top notch.  I had met Megan previously when scoping out the the joint and she was very supportive of me bringing beer club.  I'm glad she "Let Me Be The One" to set up my beer club meetup there.

I definitely need to "Find the Time" to go back.  "If I Say Yes" to returning soon, it would not be surprising.

All right, I am running out of Five Star references, but suffice it to say I definitely give this place the highest rating.

(In case you lived under a rock from 1985-1986, Five Star was a popular band made up of five siblings…kind of like The Jets, only slightly less awesome)

  5. Stopped in with a friend for a drink. Decent beers on tap. Seem to have a good app menu, but for some reason I just can't get over their pickles – I have a pickle beef (if you will). To me, house-made pickles means… wait for it… pickles. Instead it's an array of pickled THINGS, most of which are not pickles. Just tell me on the menu that it's not pickles. It's peppers and carrots and other non-pickle things. I just wanted pickles. I ate maybe two teeny pickles from the dish of "pickles", thereby effectively paying at least a buck per teeeeeny pickle. Just be more descriptive on the menu! Then I won't waste your food, and you won't waste my time/money.

  6. Can always count on getting a real brew here, and service is most of the time great.

  7. I really like One Mile House. With more visits, this could be 5 stars for me. They have a great draft beer selection as well as bottles, whiskey, a nice staff, and a cool old pub like feel/atmosphere. My buddy and I sat at the bar, but they have other seating inside as well as an outside patio. They are also right next to Bowery Ballroom (one of my favorite music venues) and are open until 4am. Not much more you can ask for.

  8. This place has a really nice draft list. There were a few breweries that I'm never heard of which I will have to make a return trip to try.

The space itself has 2 bars, one on either side of the room with a clear view through the middle of the bar to see the other. Most of the people here were either on dates or after dates. Some were here as friends but I can see that this can function well for either occasion.

Ommegang fleur is a must try, not even just for those who are fans of Ommegang beers but the subtleness and smooth finish of this brew is a winner. Also, ask for the REDANKCULOUS. Worth and order as well.

Bathrooms are solo occupancy but with a communal washing area. Not a big fan of those but thought I'd mention it.

    FAN.
