  1. Yes, yes, yes! Why haven't I come here sooner!?

This place is the happy hour spot! $5 frozen margaritas (the ones I had were blueberry passion something something, I can't remember)! Delicious and a good amount of liquor mixed in. Get to the bar early – though the bartenders are fantastic at expediting drinks, it does get crowded!

My friend and I got some guac, queso and chips plus two frozen margaritas each. I kid you not, the bill came out to a little over $40. What a steal! I'll definitely be back!

  2. Excellent food, service, drinks and atmosphere.

I went here for drinks and also for a brunch.  They were able to accommodate a loud group of about 14 people and I appreciate that.  They have great drink specials for brunch and I loved their spicy margarita as it was actually spicy.

I think I had the best breakfast burrito (maybe the best burrito burrito) ever.  It was huge!  And it contained thick cut bacon.  10/10 would recommend if you want something really filling.

Bonus points for atmosphere.  A non offensive band played lively music as we brunched and the decor was beautiful.  They had a lot of painted skulls and other colorful decorations all over the place.  I'll be returning here again.

  3. Time to finally bring this review up to its much deserved 5 stars. You really can't go wrong with anything here and the place is full of all the necessities you need for a successful dining experience. The ambiance is unique and unrivaled in Jersey City with its beautiful murals covering the walls. The wait staff, whether you're at a table or the bar, are engaging and very helpful. THE FOOOOOOOD, from the various top-notch tacos to the entrees, are worthy to be on a last meal list.

Definitely a go-to favorite spot for me.

  4. Great spot in JC! Food was delicious, ambiance is hip with exposed brick and street art murals embracing Orale's vibe.

    We got:
The guac trio : shrimp, octopus and the house special all which we would get again.
Enchiladas suiza – class dish done well
Corn – taken off the cob and served with cheese, cilantro in a creamy white sauce.
Milk and cookies – yum! Esp the choc chip one.

Looking forward to returning to try the tacos, and many other enticing entrees. Brunch is supposed to be hopping, with their AYCD special being a winner.

  5. Orale is a really cool Mexican place in the best part of JC that will certainly leave you screaming "Guacamole!"

If coming on a Friday evening for dinner do yourself a favor and make reservations. We made ours for 7:30 and good thing because it was packed!  Not one bar stool was open and wait time for dinner was running between 25-30 minutes.

I ordered their special Mango Frozen Margarita and it was really good.  They have a nice variety of cocktails, beers, and frozen margaritas.  I've had frozen margaritas from other establishments (East LA) but this was one was made to perfection.  Not too strong and overbearing and was simply enjoyable.

My friend and I shared the guac with chips and it was delicioso! Super fresh (literally tiny pieces of avocado) and before we even realized it we ate the entire thing!

I ordered for dinner the PolloTacos.  For me the flavors were an interesting combination.  Extremely sweet and spicy.  I liked it but didn't love it.  The side of rice and beans it came with were authentically cooked.

Honestly, I would come back to Orale just for a drink and to eat the guacamole and chips.  I foresee this as being a good happy hour choice in my future.

  6. I had drinks here once when they first opened and was a little put off by the price point of the food.  It took me a year or two to come back, and I'm so glad I did! Expensive, yes. Delicious, Yassssss.  I've had brunch and dinner here and both were fantastic.  For brunch, the huevos rancheros was I think the best I've ever had; in fact from now on I don't think I'll order this dish anywhere else.  I'm also a fan of the guacamole, of which I've only tried 3 or 4 varieties.  The blue cheese and papitas guacamole is hands down my favorite, but I still have to try about eight different kinds to definitively call it.  I was less of a fan of the queso dip, but if you like cheesy apps, this would definitely be a good choice.  Once I was here for a Yelp event and the duck nachos were very popular so you may want to try that too.  What drew me here most recently was Taco Tuesday, half price tacos (excluding the lobster tacos) as long as you pay your entire bill in cash.  I had the beer battered fish tacos, and although they were a little on the small size, there's five to an order so your pretty full, even without ordering an appetizer.  I really liked the tacos and am going to have to come back frequently for taco Tuesdays as there are four other kinds of tacos I can try as a pescatarian, which is pretty awesome (sword fish, tuna, veggie, and lobster).  Paying your entire bill in cash if you are going to have drinks with dinner can run a little steep, but I guess rules are rules.

Yes the prices are high here but on every visit I've really liked my food.  Aside from that, the only thing I would change is the music is always too loud, and while it's nice to sit in the back room which is a little quieter, if you are seated by the door you hear the main room's music as well as your room's music and it's a bit schizophrenic.

  7. Took me a long time to write a review for this gem of a restaurant. But let me start by saying Orale will blow your mind away with an explosion of flavors.  And with a wide variety of tequila you can't go wrong here.

I have tried their tacos the small but flavor packed bites of yummy goodness.  My go to are the carnitas, 5 tacos filled with perfectly fried pork belly served with a side of rice and beans. I also top off the tacos with the 3 house sauces that bring the taco to another culinary atmosphere.  I want to try others but that taste is an addiction that cannot escape my mind.  They are a bit pricey $18 but if you come on Tuesday and bring some cash you can enjoy the same experience at half the price.  The chili con queso is also a hot cheesy cream that is also quite delectable.  I also had the tuna watermelon crudo which was a light and well balanced bite the watermelon wasn't too strong. A great way to start your meal.

The ambiance of Orale is intimate with a live crowd.  The painted murals on the wall are original and fits the Mexican themed restaurant.   The drinks are reasonably priced.  And have a nice happy hour.

Orale is my go to Mexican restaurant in this area and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon.

  8. Came here with colleagues and overall very pleased with our experience ;

    DECOR 5/5

Day of the dead theme with tasteful graffiti and corky Mexican accessories/art. Great ambiance, lots of people even for a Monday evening!

    Service 3/5

It started great, our waiter was present for drink orders, food recommendations, also good during our meal to make sure we were happy. The bussboy did a great job and was joking around with us. Unfortunately it took 15 minutes to get our bill and another 10 the be able to pay. It seems that asking him to split the bill in 3 was the most annoying request ever.

    FOOD 5/5

Oh my! How tasty it was! And generous portions! We shared the Serrano Marmelade Guacamole that came with crunchy nachos. There was a very nice mix of sweetness and spiciness altogether.

I then went for the Carne Asado. Again, hands off to the tasty steak and amazing duck fat fries. Everything was great and you could tell it was freshly made.

As for drinks, the do have a wide range or Margaritas and Tequila. Mine had grapefruit, agave and lime and was very refreshing.

All around us people were having fun and enjoyed their experience. It's a great stop in Jersey City.
