  1. I usually don't like wonton soup. I like egg drop and hot and sour BUT friend let me try his wonton egg drop mix. I love love the wontons, not dough and not huge they melt in your mouth so now I am hooked. They do tend to have dishes that are on the sweet side bc they are thai based with Chinese thrown in. I ask them to turn up the heat and they always accomodate perfectly. I like spice. We are regular customers so they know what and how we like things. I tried there asian wings they were delish. and there spring rolls and egg rolls are really good and not greasy. The staff are sweet and attentive. They have been getting busier and busier so gotta get there earlier than normal. I hope this place stays.

  2. Spicy mango sauce was very good

  3. Updating my review because, while Orchid is still the best Chinese food in the area, it feels like they're starting to slip. The dishes are not as flavorful as I recall when I first started eating here, and no matter how hard I try, I just cannot get them to make anything really spicy. And like most American Chinese food, it's all still a little too sweet and glurpy for me — far less so than all of the other Chinese restaurants in the area — but still…

Orchid should be doing more to differentiate itself from its competition or they're just going to end up blending in with the rest of the bunch.

  4. Clean modern space with friendly service. The food was tasty and you can tell it was freshly prepared! Love the combination of Thai and Chinese dishes on the menu, plenty of choices for everyone. Be prepared to wait a bit for the food but you will be happy when it does come out. You can tell there was some time spent preparing each dish! Prices were very very reasonable. I will definitely be back 🙂

Only con is it is kind of tough to find in the Stop & Shop shopping center!

  5. We drop in atleast twice a month, and in the last 2.5 years, never been disappointed with this place! Extremely courteous and efficient service, simple yet elegant ambience and very good food. Tried pretty much everything on the menu – all good! Personal favorites: Tom yum seafood soup, egg drop soup, steamed pork dumplings, pad Thai, Singapore Mai Fun.

  6. Yay! …. I'm a fan.
I came to Orchid on a Saturday at about 2 pm. Myself my girlfriend and a buddy of ours were the only people in the place. I hate when that happens.
The girl at the front was very nice and sat us anywhere we wanted.
When we sat down we were given just lunch menu's and I do appreciate offering me the specials first but It seemed like those were our only options. We asked for regular menu's and got them no problem. We ended up ordering everything of the lunch menu and a special entrees card that was on the table…..nothing off regular menu's we requested. While reviewing the menu we talked about how nice the place was. VERY CLEAN.
All three of us got Chow Fun. My girlfriend got vegi while our buddy and I both got roast pork. The lunch specials came with soup. The waitress was glad to offer my girlfriend the hot and sour soup since she noticed my girlfriends order being vegetarian. (the soup does not even have chicken stock in it) My girlfriend has never had H&S soup before but she loved it. Our buddy also tried some of hers and said it was very good and he will get it next time. I got wonton soup and the waitress was also happy to get my buddy who was torn between egg drop and wonton a mixed bowl!
Girlfriend got the Spring Roll (2 for $3) and they were very good. The rolls appeared to be fresh prepared and were very large in comparison to every other Spring roll I have ever seen.
Aside from the Noodle dish's my buddy and I split a dish of Thai Shredded Beef. THIS WAS AMAZING! It was $13 came with some white rice and definitely enough beef for us to split and be happy. We all agreed that while the noddles were done well they needed just a little bit more pop of flavor. I can not put my finger on exactly what it needed but they fell a little 1 dimensional. The pork in the noodles was a liiiiittle dry but plenty of it. Once I added the Thai beef with some of the extra sauce to my noodles they were a plate worth coming back for.
While we were eating I mentioned to my girlfriend that the girl up front is very nice and help full but she was the only waiteress/host. I said "If like 3 or 4 more tables came in she would be screwed"…of course immediately following this comment 2 more tables of people walked in. She was handing them fine and my water was being topped off so cool. It's hardly worth complaining about because it did not effect me but when a 3th group of people walked in to inquire about having a party function she cold not step away. I saw her looking around wanting to jump away to get the other tables food that might be ready in back, top off refills, and hit us with our check. I was in no rush so it was fine with me, but I hate to see someone who's working hard and doing a good job possibly end up with bad reviews because she was short handed. Some sort of second manager should be around able to dedicate time to a large inquiry because that usually requires a lot of time and small detail that should not be rushed.

    I will return.

  7. Good strip center asian themed restaurant.  Enjoyed the dumplings, General Tso's chicken, and pork lo mein.  While not standout, if the General is on your back and you need to get him off, well, hit it up.

  8. My favorite fusion in EB. Great lunch & dinner specials around $10. Superior combination Asian fusion, I highly recommend for a variety of reasons.

Brewed tea yes.  Relaxed atmosphere without obtuse Asian frills yes. Dimly lit yes, but pleasant date environment. Attentive service yes.

Hong Kong wonton with choice of 4 different noodles is divine with combo shrimp n pork wontons along with baby bok choy yummy. Their roast pork low mein is absolutely perfect not too much juice not too dry just right with plenty of pork for us carnivores. Their Pad Thai will stand up against any Thai restaurants in the area, I'm partial to the shrimp a big thumbs up. I haven't been disappointed by any of the soups.

One of the few places that deliver high quality product at reasonable prices. They could use more spice/heat, but if that's my only complaint then they may be the best around here.  BYOB!
