Oregano

“BYOB with a reasonable corking fee, and as others have mentioned, a wine shop literally across the street.”

“We ended up having a prosciutto, figs and ricotta pizza as an appetizer and they also brought the house bread drizzled with olive oil.”

“Great, cozy spot in the both the winter and the summer in their cute backyard.”

  1. Really delicious. Get the tartufato pizza and add arugula so amazing. No longer BYOB but it is worth the wait. I wouldn't come with a group larger than 4 people.

  2. I went in looking forward to an awesome Italian meal.  I was disappointed with the menu selection so I decided on a Spinach salad with salmon; my first issue we the fact that that I could see the cook grab the spinach right out the bag and throw it up on my plate, I hope it was rinsed off prior; the salmon was smoked and thinly sliced it was not what I expected. The salad was just bland.

My friend had the Chicken Marsala with pasta and the portion was small and no wow factor.

The service was good and that is why I gave it three stars!!

  3. Was here on a weekend for an early dinner.

Nice selection of pizza, pasta, daily specials, and a few others.

Got the all meat pizza, don't remember the name but it had a selection of meats on it and was solid. Also had the Shrimp Fettuccine, creamy and fresh.

  4. Awesome pizza.
I was craving for a real good pizza and my boyfriend for pasta and we fell right in the good restaurant for that.

I ordered a pepperoni pizza: all the ingredients on it were great, the tomato sauce was just tasty as I like it, the mozzarella was actual real mozzarella which was awesome and the pepperoni was great too. And the crust was so awesome that I didn't even left the edges. It was a really simple pizza but a great one.
My boyfriend had the lasagna and there were great too, it felt fresh and really tasty, he really enjoyed it.
The service was great and the place (we were seated in the patio) was cute. The price is totally descent for the quality.

I was really thinking about giving 5 stars to the place, but Just before paying I saw one of the cook with some frozen lasagna.. The menu says all the pasta are fresh and homemade if I recall, is it still really fresh if it's frozen ?

  5. I visited here wanting to hate this place only for the reason its in Billysburg.I've had bad experiences with a number of places within the neighborhood and assumed it was going to be the same.I was so wrong about this place. Its absolutely charming, especially the backyard with grapevines and fruit trees all around, with the mismatched outdoor furniture and the great music playing I immediately felt like I was on vacation. I ordered a bottle of malbec, which was great, and fairly priced.  Luis, my server, recommended  the fettucini  bolognese, he did not steer me wrong, it was delish. The pasta is homemade, and the sauce was perfect. The portions are perfect not too much, but enough to fill you without feeling like a bloated whale. Service from Luis was outstanding, he's extremely friendly and attentive, never missed a step.
I will most certainly be back.

  6. Where Brooklyn at!!!!! This was hands down the best gluten-free pizza I have ever tried. My friends and I all shared a large veggie gluten-free pie and each one agreed they couldn't taste the difference between regular wheat crust and the gluten-free one we devoured in less than 5 minutes. Shout out to Mario our server too! He was sweet and catered to our needs and requests while taking the time to slide a joke in every time he visited our table. Well done, Oregano!

  7. Went to Oregano for dinner and fell in love with the staff + the environment. The restaurant is small and cozy offering you a nice intimate setting – perfect for a date. The waiters were very attentive, courteous, and always smiling which is a huge plus in my book. They start you off with a small bowl of olives and complimentary soft toasted bread topped with what I think is olive oil and rosemary (or some type of other condiment). We ordered the mushroom appetizer – I can't remember the name and it was delicious. As for our main meal: I ordered the Chicken Caprese and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Marsala entree. Both came with a side of home-made fettuccine. Overall the food was good but what makes me like this restaurant is the place itself!

  8. Adorable spot to get a gluten free Italian bite – basically all of their pizzas and pastas can be prepared gluten free!

The service was wonderful and attentive, the ambiance was lovely and the food was top notch too.

My friend and I split the prosciutto di parma pizza on gluten free crust. Easily one of the best gluten free pizza crusts I've been able to find in williamsburg (and maybe all of new York) – plus the toppings were also excellent. The shrimp Alfredo with gluten free pasta was also yummy – the shrimp were large and tasted fresh – the Alfredo sauce did leave a bit to be desired though. Overall great food though, and the only reason I am going with 4 stars instead of 5 is that it certainly wasn't cheap.

Definitely can't wait to come back and try more gluten free carb deliciousness though!
