Food and waiter were great. My only issue was how long it took to come out. Otherwise, food was excellent and it's a great location. I'd definitely return but expect food to not take so long.
This review might be a little biased seeing as I came here for a work-sponsored happy hour function but here it goes anyway.
We ordered some appetizers and I really liked most of them. The tuna tartare tacos, which come with 4, are really good. However, they are literally the size of your thumb – they are bite-sized 'tacos'. I could have easily finished three orders of these. The parmesan tater tots were probably the best tater tots i've ever had in my life. They're not those frozen school lunch ones, but they actually tasted like real potatoes and had a good amount of parm on them, so that made it all that much better. The jumbo shrimp cocktail, which comes with 5 pieces are jumbo. But that's all they've got going for them. The only other adjective I would use to describe them would be flavorless.
I tried the Moscow Mule but it was too sweet for my taste.
I think that if I were to come here for a non-work event, it would get pretty pricey, especially since I don't think they have happy hour. You can definitely find a better bang for your buck elsewhere in the area.
I recently visited with friends in lower Manhattan and tried out PJ Clark's for the first time. They were very accommodating of my friend's stroller and we were lucky enough to be seated right away. Our server was very friendly and got our drinks and orders in quickly. I ordered a Hamburger Au Poivre which was fantastic. The burger was cooked medium rare as requested. I really enjoyed the flavor of the pepper sauce mixed with cheddar cheese and grilled onion and peppers. You must order fries on the side and you can choose from regular and sweet potato. My boyfriend and friend got the fish and chips which was a large serving. I had a bite and actually liked it (which is good since I don't normally eat fish). It was fried nicely and was not too oily. Our other friend got fish tacos. She said that she found them bland but I did not try any. The rest of the meals were hits so i guess 3 of 4 wins.
The restaurant was nice, much larger than I expected. I will definitely return once it starts to get warmer since I enjoy walking along the river. I noticed they had a brunch menu that was not very extensive but was also rather expensive. It incorporated more of the raw bar which explained the high cost of eggs. When splitting the bill, 4 lunches cost 120 with tip. This is higher than I'd normally like since we did not drink but once in a while it is a nice treat.
Good but a little expensive and the dining room is HUGE. Great place for a work lunch as everything comes out lickity split.
We came here for HH after work too and it was absolutely bustling. Surprisingly though, we didn't wait long for anything, even drinks at the height of HH. And they make 'em good and stiff. That's probably why my NY coworkers love to hang here after a hard day at the office.
At lunch, I got a filling clam chowder and a decent-sized lobster roll that I couldn't finish (yes, I know; that NEVER happens). My colleague got the crab cake and it was also a good portion. So I'm impressed they don't skimp. Overall, a great option if you're working nearby.
Over priced and mediocre P.J. Clarke's is in a great location, but the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the mashed potatoes, they were ok.
A colleague of mine ordered the Kimchi Burger with a Fried Egg, she said it was delicious. The Parmesan Crusted Eggplant Sticks didn't have any taste, but the Crisp Parmesan Tater Tots were pretty good. I heard the Crispy Sweet & Spicy Duck Confit wasn't good, another colleague sent it back to the kitchen.
To be honest the food wasn't that great. Not to mention it was really expensive.
I work above Brookfield Place frequently and recently stopped in to grab a couple cocktails with my friend.
When we sat at the bar, the bartender dropped off 2 oysters…we were unsure what to do with them since we clearly didn't order them and we didn't really hear him say anything. Finally we just decided to eat them – they were fantastic.
We each had two cocktails which were AWESOME. I had the St. Germain Cocktail which was fantastic, as well as the Kelly which was super tasty as well. My friend had two sidecars which she loved as well.
Unfortunately we didn't have time for food, so thus 4 stars instead of 5. But I would give it another try for the cocktails alone!
YUMMY burgers!! I came here for lunch and was seated pretty quickly at the hightop picnic tables. We had a group of 4 and the hostess was super helpful in finding us a table. It gets pretty packed.
I got the wild mushroom cheddar burger (not exactly sure what it's called but it had mushrooms and cheddar) ~$16. I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! Fries are extra- couple bucks extra. I asked for a side of mayo cuz I'm fat and dip my fries in them. No shame. My meal basically cost me around $25 including tax and tip. Pricey? Yes but it's brookfield.
Excellent burger if you're craving for one in battery park city. Will be back!! Our server was really nice too!
Nice view, decent simple food (burgers and simple seafood), but $25 for a burger, fries and an iced tea is completely over the top.
The service was ok.
You can do better in the World Financial Center area.
