Pa De Thai Restaurant
“It's BYOB, like most places in Edgewater, but there's a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including honey lemonade (yum!).”
“I ordered the pad kee maow with chicken and usually at other places it's too salty.”
“We had the house salad, curry puffs (so good), calamari (crisp and light), Tom ka soup (best I've ever had), panang curry and red curry – both with vegetarian duck.”

I am no culinary expert or a foodie…in fact, until last year, I hadn't tried Thai food. I know, you are gasping as you read this, but it's true. My palate and impeccable sense of smell have been wasted all these years.
Anyway, back to the review.
My three friends and I came here for dinner in early spring. It's BYOB, which is nice. The restaurant became steadfastly busy as we sat at our table for two or so hours but the server never made us feel rushed.
We ordered the mixed appetizer to split, which consisted of curry puffs, steamed vegetable dumplings and spring rolls. We ordered two of these between the four of us and it was just right as a starter.
For my entree, I ordered the Pad Thai (which is my usual go-to at Thai places) and it was delicious. The portion was not too much or too little and it was flavored exactly how I like it (spicy).
We also ordered two desserts to share. I'm still shocked that we had such a good time and yummy food for under $25 per person (including tax and tip).
Came here for dinner. BYOB is definitely a plus! Ordered 3 apps to share between the two of us. And then got the Peppercorn Salmon with rice and veggies. He got he pork with garlic sauce and his garlic sauce was amazing! Great service. Friendly people. Definitely recommend! Nice candles setting the mood for date night too.
Lunch here was disappointing. Dinner has always been very good.
Tried this place for the first time with two friends and it was absolutely on point. Service could be better but the waiters were friendly, simply not attentive. The food was excellent, great flavor and BIG portions made for a good value. We will definitely be back.
I had to ask for my water, spice tray, lemon, check, to pick up my check. My arms are so tired from waving to the server. Food was pretty good. I think take out may be the better option here.
I can safely say this is the best Thai food I've found so far in Bergen County.
The ambience is quite modern, but food is no-doubt authentically Thai. Another plus is the vegetarian/vegan options that they have.
Just a tip: this place can get a little crowded after 8pm for dinner. I typically would come around 7.30 to avoid the crowd. Also, this place is somewhat easy to miss in the strip of stores on Old River Road. Parking first in the nearby lot might be a good idea so that you can just walk as you look for this restaurant.
I love everything about Thai food. From the variations in flavor to the spice levels that can make me tear. This leads to both nervousness and excitement when I try a new Thai place.
Pa De did not excite me…. It basically served its purpose to fulfill a spot for dinner and a girls night.
It's a cute spot, dimmed light, nice ambience overall. Staff is extremely friendly. They helped us try different things and patiently waited till the late comer of the party (me) settled in.
The apps were pretty good. I know we got the naan with chicken stew… Sorry I can't remember the name but it was amazing. The chicken tasted a little gamey but the sauce was awesome.
For dinner we got a few different dishes from the pad Thai to chili basil and everything was okay… Nothing bad nothing great.
I wouldn't go out of my way to come here…
I've been to this place a bunch of times and they never failed me. Pad thai and calamari are my go to's. When the weather is nice eat outside with the lights above your head and enjoy a lychee martini.
