Owner took careful time to discuss wine prices & economics, I really appreciate his thoughtfulness & care to not just the selling but the customer's buying. Store layout is clear, obvious & easy-to-navigate & sponsors exploring related wines. Whether a quick in & out or slowly exploring, Packard's convenient location a 1 minute walk from the Queensboro Plz exit makes it an easy decision.
The Indian guy who owns the place is kind of weird, but the prices are lower than S&A Wines & Spirits and the selection of wine is better. If you demand minis for a large-ish purchase (greater than $50) they will give you a few. By the way, they know nothing about wine and spirits, so don't trust their judgement.
But overall, they have a nice wine selection and their prices aren't bad. I'd pick them over any other neighborhood joint.
