Not sure how I feel about this place. I was craving enchiladas so came here during the week for dinner. The guacamole was pretty good even though it seemed watered down (idk why lol). Ordered the enchiladas and they weren't as good as I wanted or expected them to be. Ugh so disappointed as the other reviews were so high starred.
Holy guacamole!!!!! This was sooooooo good!
I got a Mother's Day treat by coming to this place and I made a total pig out of myself with the ultra-delicious shrimp tacos with hot sauce on the soft corn tortillas, washed down with 2 perfect margaritas. I will be back again, FOR SURE. The best Mexican on the Island.
I was excited about this place. Twice I've been and twice I've been disappointed. It's just mediocre. There is nothing that stands out. No authentic Mexican. Just typical stuff that doesn't have much flavor. I mean I ordered a lobster taco and it wasn't good! How could you mess up lobster!!!???
When I walked in the atmosphere was nice and the decor also. Was crowded so figured it was good food. When we got our menus it took the waitress a while to get out orders and drinks. The service is slow and she put in the wrong order for my food but I just ate it cause I heard and seen the nightmares of sending your food back. The waitress and hostess would have there own private conversations on the side while I'm still waiting for my food for the past 1/2 hour. Service is def. not a plus at all and just to get another drink my friend had to go to the bar himself to order it. The check took forever to come cause we couldn't find the waitress and the place isn't even big! The food and drinks were good I enjoyed the coconut mojitos and margarita but the guacamole can use some lemon. I would just go back for drinks and some chips.
The place is pretty small & tends to get crowded easily. We came in the summer & there was no air conditioning. We came in the winter and it was too drafty. The weather seems to work against them. Our waitress was in a rush to take our orders, but then took too long after our orders were in. Food is good, big portions. Burritos are good (usually what I get). A little on the pricey side. An okay place.
Ordered the Mexican Lemonade, bartender was prompt and very nice. Drink was full of powdered sour mix and sugar, not so much lemonade…
Ordered the appetizer sampler, the plantains were good, everything else was fried and generic
The service was prompt and friendly.
I ordered the steak special, it was covered with Funyuns and really too salty to eat, I asked for vegetables instead of rice and beans and never got them.
For Mexican on Staten Island, the food was okay, I'd say you're better off at adobe for the same type of food.
