  1. The pastries are flaky and good. It's definitely better warm. The prices are expensive for what you get. The service isn't too friendly either. I wouldn't make a special trip to come visit.

  2. The coffee is good (Noble Tree), but they've gotten a bit lazy. I specifically ask for a cortado to stay and a cold brew to go, but the barista doesn't care, and makes both of them to go – every single time. Love all the little baked treats and decor, but with the price it really wouldn't kill them to actually make my cortado to stay. No more latte art in the past visits either.

They warm the pão de queijo now, which is great. Their rocky road cookie is awesome. Empadinhas are super overpriced for the size. They started serving little brunch dishes on weekends.

Still one of the best options for coffee in this part of town, with a few operational flaws.

  3. Yes, if this place is outside of your budget (like it is for mine), it will definitely be a splurge for you. Not something I would do every day, but their zucchini walnut bread constantly calls to me. I've also tried some of their muffins and cookies, and they are absolutely worth the price tag.

The only disappointment so far has been the iced summer teas. I'm sure they're made from premium ingredients; however, iced white tea probably just isn't my thing and the "flavors" all taste the same. Tropical? Berries? It just tastes like white tea to me. I do love that they now have a drink card. It is definitely an incentive to keep me coming back.

The wonderful baked goods keep this review at a solid 4 stars.

  4. I like Padoca; they have unique pastries and good cold brew coffee. I would say that the only downside of Padoca is that I would probably like greater variety of their baked goods. But what is sold is good quality. I have particularly enjoyed the mushroom empanada and zucchini bread. They are a welcome treat when I am in the area!

  5. The coffee here is really good has a slight hazelnut flavor. Pastry bar is very specific. They have a guava roll which I thought was delish. The egg brioche was not good. Its too fluffy and the egg is fully cooked, it looked like it would be yolky. I like a wet egg so was surprised when it was cooked through. The pai de quejo are great bread balls made with blended egg and cheese. My kids really liked those. The cafe is unique some of the seats are swings and I love the homey feel. Its def unique Brazilian coffee house. I will def come back for the coffee and guava pastry.

  6. A little more than $4 for a regular iced coffee, whoops, I mean "cold brew", seems a bit outrageous. Then again, this place is in the UES, so i should've seen that coming!

Decor is cute and homey – I loved the tea kettle lights! Coffee itself was actually quite good. I usually get almond milk with my coffee, but this place charges a dollar which is pretty absurd, so I opted out.

Their dessert display looked pretty tantalizing – sadly, I wasn't able to try any since my body isn't' so forgiving when it comes to dessert!

  7. I came here on a hot day for an iced tea. The iced tea was just average but the mushroom empanada was extraordinary. It is rather small for the price (I think it was either $3.50 or $4) but it is crafted like a fine, gourmet hors d'oeuvre.

I can't really get here as often as I'd like to because I get off of work too late to make it here but I will definitely make it a point to return for the mushroom empanada and  try other pastries. Yum!

  8. I had a chocolate chip cookie that was ooey gooey moist chocolatey and delicious! I had asked for a soy cappuccino but received a skim cappuccino instead. I didn't feel like asking for it to be changed especially since I was more interested in catching up with my bestie!

I also tried the PDQ pao de queijo which is basically a cheese bread. It was okay, I was too hungry to worry about taste. I was  disappointed in the fact that there is no bathroom available and that there weren't too many options. It is a cute space and with a swing and all but not having a bathroom when coffee is a diuretic just doesn't make sense to me. Will not be able to return even though that chocolate chip cookie was BOMB!
