Second time here but but the first time was years ago before hurricane Sandy and they've redone the entire restaurant. Now its very nice and clean inside , before it was kind of a dive joint for a quick bite.
I tried about 6 different things plus a few desserts and everything was very good , ill definitely be back.
The woman taking my to go order was extremely friendly and she even took the time to tell me what everything was even though i knew most of them.
Price was very fair considering fresh homemade type food , spices and flavors were a burst of delicious currygasm :- )
The made to order naan….was the bomb , few different types of naan and roti's actually, check the pics and you might be able to zoom in on the menu and read the options.
Clean , cheap , fresh and very friendly combined with a large selection of foods = happy foodie
Check them out , i think their open 24hrs but im not sure , i forgot to ask but I've diven by at late hours and i remember them being open. Only thing that sucks is that parking can be a Bit$@h during the afternoon but then again its the same allover NY so its all good because its worth it .
Before deciding on Pak Nashamen my family & I had stepped into a different Pakistani restaurant. Thankfully we were able to convince my hungry dad to do the 5 minute walk over to Nashamen otherwise we would've been stuck w/stale pakistani food over dirty tables.
When we walked into Nashamen, all of us breathed a sigh of relief, looking at the food you knew right away that it was fresh & it smelled great. The tables were clean, the staff here is friendly & accommodating.
Pros
Naan – the naan here is so fluffy
Chicken Seekh Kebabs – tender & spicy
Tandoori Chicken Leg – tender & juicy
Halva Puri – this hit the spot for my dad. He's been craving it for a while now
Meh
Battered Fish – my dad loved this but my sister, mom & myself were really not into it. I've honestly never had fish at a pakistani/indian restaurant that's prepared well.
Bhiryani & Alloo Gosht – it felt like these had a little too much garam masala in it.
If I lived closer to coney island I'd definitely come back
