   Lets face it I'm a Chipotle fan through and through . My husband was getting his haircut in the area so we decided to stop in and try Panchero's  Mexican Grill. It's located on Rt.. 22 East in Watchung, Nj. Their mascot is named Bob. He is a red spatula, they use it to spread  the fixing and make everything even.
   It's the same type setup as Chipotle. You go to the front to place your order then you can sit down or take your order out. They make fresh tortillas which are pressed on the spot then heated on a grill so there warm to start. You have a choice of chicken, pork or beef. The choices are a burrito, burrito bowl, salads, tacos, or quesadillas.  if you don't want the tortilla you can have it in a bowl with lettuce and the meat, or just beans then add any of the fixings on top. Add a lot or a little you get to customize it your way. I chose the burrito with rice w/ cilantro and lime, black beans, pork, cheese , guacamole , yellow roasted corn salsa, pico de gallo ,salsa verde,and mild ancho hot sauce. Everything was mixed evenly into my burrito.  Panchero's can be Weight Watchers friendly. They post a complete list with their ingredients on the web listing what each item is and the number of Weight Watchers points.
   This thing was huge and rolled perfectly. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. I also got blue chips and queso for my husband to add to his burrito. Everything I ate had great flavor, and was very fresh.  You get free refills on all drinks so order a small. This place is kid friendly, They have cheese quesadillas, chicken tacos, sides of rice, or Tiny Tots quesadillas. Panchero's Mexican Grill has order forms on the web for groups. Just print it and fill it in and your ready to place a large order.
   The restaurant itself was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part is their prices very reasonable. My burrito was $ 7.49 plus $1.00 for the large scoop of guacamole. Two tacos are $4.99 everyday. Now that's a deal!
   There is plenty of free parking in their lot….. I will definitely be back soon.

   If you're coming to Pancheros, it's probably because of the fresh made tortillas. That's really the only distinguishing feature that they have going for them to set them apart from the other burrito guys. The good thing about Pancheros tortillas is that they make the tortillas fresh. Meaning dough ball goes into the press, burrito maker presses down to flatten out the dough, and then it goes into the grill. I really like the tortillas they have here, though since they are handmade the quality can be a little inconsistent.

   As for the rest of the experience, this place has a smaller menu than the other burrito guys and does nickel and dime for everything. Veggies are extra. Queso is extra. Guac is extra. Chips are extra. By the time you get everything you want, you're looking at $12+ where most of the other burrito stores are in the $10 range.

   Drink choices are somewhat limited as they don't have a Coke Freestyle machine, and there is no salsa bar.

   Overall, a decent burrito, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
