  1. Tried this Panera as it just opened. Decor was nice, both indoor and outdoor. Outdoor area was very nice with several shaded tables, cushiony seats and privacy fence separating it from parking lot.

Indoors it has tables and benches like most paneras. It also has a fireplace but it is high up not by sofas like other paneras.

Food was good as it is in other paneras. Ordering was fast but one thing they do different is bring food to the table not pick up.

Overall we liked this panera and will continue to come here since it's closer to home.

    Update 05/18/16

This place has gone down hill so fast. For an establishment that hasn't been open a year, they should consider changing management before it gets even worse. We've come here a few times since initial review hoping things will improve.

So far they have ran out of food, but didn't update this in the kiosk. The food is served in a sloppy manner, dripping everywhere. Bread was stale twice, but on both occasions they didn't give me another one when asked. Tea was dumped at 9 pm when they close at 10pm, we were told to drink soda instead! They never have lids to medium size cups.Bathrooms need tending to and they don't clean up plates. I could go on but I'm tired of typing.

Panera..please fix the issues! So much potential but you have been falling short every time.

  2. I usually come here after a workout nearby at the LA fitness. It better coming here than pounding jr. bacon cheeseburgers from Wendy's.

I love ordering the the self checkout.

My go to entree is the cobb salad but I replace the lettuce with kale and spinach, add sesame seeds, add apple chips, add chilatro, add frizzled onions and no dressing or until I cant make anymore changes.  So, far after over visits the haven't messed up my order yet. The only thing is sometimes i takes over 10 minutes for my food to come out because I my over customized mess. I sometimes add a soup and add a 99 cent pastry and give it to one of my bum coworkers for breakfast when I feel generous.

Panera wifi fine here. The manager does not kick me out after chilling here post workout.

There's outdoor seating with umbrella and cushioned seats which is nice.

  3. I'm a geek, so my review is gonna be all about the geek stuff…you wanna read about food or service, read the other reviews.

When I walk into a building, I look for outlets. It can be any building…it can even be a cave.

This place has a few good spots to post up, crack open that laptop and get to work.

WiFi is wicked fast also, at least their upload speeds are. There's outdoor seating too if you don't need juice.

  4. I haven't had any problems ordering from here thus far, but I do understand – coming from a food service background myself – that things can pop up unexpectedly, at the worst possible time.

Other Yelpers have stated that this location is constantly dirty, and disorganized and I agree – to an extent. This location seems to not be so disorganized, but understaffed. There's no reason a soup and a cookie should take 15 minutes to get when the store is practically empty. I don't even bother going in the drive-thru anymore. I've found it takes longer to order food via the drive-thru, than to just park and go inside.

That being said, my food is always prepared fresh with no errors and exactly to my specifications.

  5. Wow, it's really amazing that new places can simply go from mediocre, or bad, to WORSE.

We came in for lunch. Because we were planning to pay with a credit card, we were told to go the express ordering kiosk. This kiosk was touchscreen and quite easy to navigate and order. We were able to see what was available and the cost. That's where things took a turn for the worst.

We were craving for their creamy tomato soup in a bread bowl after hearing so much hype about them, and feedback from family members and co-workers. But when we got there, the kiosk said that they were sold out. When we asked that person about this, she told us that they ran out for the day. Really? That's a shame, so we looked for other possible preferences.

We looked at creamy chicken and french onion soups. But guess what the kiosk said. SOLD OUT. The person said they ran out of that too. We browsed through the sandwich section, and half of what was displayed on the kiosk said "SOLD OUT". This didn't feel right at all.

Fed up, we decided to dine at a place next door. But before that, we wanted to get a bear claw for dessert later in the day. But guess what the person in the bakery said. SOLD OUT!! My dad questioned on whether or not this was the proper way to operate ON A WEEKEND!! Because the place next door didn't have any issues like that!

It's hard to believe that a restaurant would operate when they didn't have the popular items in stock on a WEEKEND. In fact, it's the first time that we've experienced something like that. As with JZ's agreeable 1-star review, there's clearly a lot of disorganization here. We will NOT come back to THIS location ever again! If this location doesn't want to lose more customers, then they should BE MORE ORGANIZED!! We'll give Panera's Watchung location one more chance in the future, but if they pull the "Clark" move, then we will NOT patronize this CHAIN ever again.
