My original review was posted when they first started Rapid Order so I imagine there was some time adjusting to the new system. For the last few months rapid pick up has been extremely fast. The order pick up time is 10 minutes after you place your order and it has been ready just about every time I've picked up.
No complaints anymore!
Panera Bread is definitely a better choice than a lot of places you could eat. The CEO recently announced that in the next several year they are going to be phasing out a lot of artificial ingredients and GMO. This is likely because people have been doing a lot of their own research on stuff and are demanding it as consumers. I have been doing the Pick 2 combos when I have gone their recently. I am steadily making my way through all the soup selections that I am interested in. (lemon chicken orzo was too lemony, the black bean with kale was really good) The service is usually fast-sometimes (and this was me when I had never been to a Panera and was not familiar with the menu) you get people on the line who ask a lot of questions and that seems to slow things down but once you order the food comes pretty quickly.
It's a Panera.
Therefore, the soups are fine, the sandwiches are ok at best, and the desserts are ok or stale or the odd mix of both.
Therfore, it's a Panera's.
Panera, soups salads and breads ! Always a great option to bad fast food. I am thankful and sad that they added the calorie count to all their signage BUT that information has drastically curbed what I order. I had no idea how many calories were in some items but oh well good to know I guess !
I tried the steak pannini and it was awesome would absolutely have it again. Panera is a staple of mine because of the locations, and the type of menu they have.
One of my favorite locations to come to.
Very friendly staff and helpful with customizing your order.
I have come here on several occasions and have had nothing but a pleasant experience. My food is always correct and never cold or sloppily put together.
I really enjoy their broccoli and cheddar soup and many of their salads. Their frontega chicken sandwich is really good as well!
Food is your average Panera food, but two stars off for the following:
– Slow cashiers
– Average size Panera, but seating availability can suck, especially in peak hours
– I would never get take out from here. Both times I ordered I got a miniscule salad that is half the size of what I would have gotten had I dined in. Since it happened more than once I was almost annoyed enough to complain to their corporate office, but now I just don't bother ordering take out from them anymore.
Easily four/five stars if they fix the problems above.
First of all you have to realize that absolutely no one at Panera in Fair Lawn speaks English. No one. Not the help and certainly not the patrons. The line is ever so slow as the Spanish speaking woman behind the counter trys to decipher what the Russian speaking woman is trying to order all while a plethora of kids are screaming loudly, probably because they"ve been waiting 45 minutes for their food. The fascinating thing is that this occurs whether there are 3 people on line or 30. You see, at Panera the woman who takes your order is also responsible for brewing your latte, toasting your bagel or just about anything else that doesn't require the dedicated cooking staff.
Which brings me to the menu. They took something fairly straight forward and complicated the crap out of it so it no longer makes any sense. Even with the incredibly long wait to order I still couldn't figure out how the hell it worked. There are regular prices, you pick 2 prices and other prices, none of which I fully understood.
The food is decent but in recent years the portions have shrunk as the prices have increased. again, not great. There is, however, free wifi which means outcasts who were perhaps thrown out of Starbucks for ordering a cup of coffee and sitting on their iPads for 8 hours can and do congregate here. Talking about congregating, there is a lot of it at Fair Lawn Panera. Loud foreign dialects and laughing screaming junior high school kids can often be heard competing for your attention.
So kids, if you are in the mood to wait for a really long time to order semi healthy, over priced food while being exposed to loud noise I highly recommend it. Otherwise, stay the hell away. I do.
One more thing….When you order, in addition to asking your name, they ask for your phone number. While I can certainly understand this for a delivery, asking it when you order at the counter can only mean that you are going to get annoying Panera promotional text messages. I wonder if they're in English. No thanks.
Definitely one of the nicer Panera Bread locations.
"Fast Lane Kiosk"– this makes my 3 star review increase to 4 starts. You can place your order without waiting on line, grab your number, take a seat & your food will be delivered!
Friendly staff– they are happy to restock anything that's low or empty at the coffee bar/ answer any questions about the menu you may have.
Nice layout– lots of comfortable seating whether you're eating lunch or lounging around on your laptop for an extended amount of time.
Parking— available in front & in the back.
