  1. I wasn't feeling this Panera.
Located in the Paramus Park Mall near the carousel, its small and the service was terribly slow. The cashier line forms along some of the tables so you are apt to get stuck with someone's a** in your face as you are eating. Tight quarters here especially if there is a line on a busy Saturday (like today).
The coffee area was also dirty. There were milk and coffee drippings on the counter and no half and half. I'll stick with the East Rutherford Panera.

  2. this restaurant may be relatively new. I don't remember it being in this mall, but i don't go a lot either. It has the standard delicious panera bread fair that got me to stop in and avoid the food court. This location is small though and seemed a tad disorganized. i waited on line longer then usual (i usually go to the woodcliff lake location) and the buzzer went off when only 1 of the 2 dishes was ready. also an employee was vacumming in the middle of the afternoon. nice that they are keeping it clean, but an awkward time to do so. all in all, not my fave location, but better then the crowded food court if you're in this mall.

  3. This location is far better than the other Paramus location. Their portion sizes are watched more carefully so your meals are consistent from visit to visit. The manager was very frank in helping to choose one dish over another and her recommendation paid off for me. I really like the dish she recommended. I like that they have outdoor seating weather permitting. This place is always a zoo, wish it was larger. I wish they would bring back the healthier whole grain bread!

  4. I work in the Paramus area so I spend most of my lunch hours at the Paramus Park Mall. I've tried all the food court options but when you are looking for a healthier option there is really only Chick fil a and Panera.

Panera is a bit more expensive but I really enjoy their variety of healthy options including the broth bowls, the salads, the soups, etc… I've basically tried it all at this point. All the negative reviews about quality confuse me. I've never had anything that tasted bad and what are people's expectations for a $7-$10 meal?

The one thing that would have made me given this place a lower review was the pick up area for the food where everyone awkwardly stands, waiting for their food to be ready, breathing on other people's food in the meantime – but they recently did away with this! Now when you order, you get a sensor that you place on your table and a food runner brings your food over. This is a much better system and much appreciated by this germaphobe.

  5. Panera is my go to place when I don't know exactly what I want for lunch. Came here yesterday with my friend and I agree with many other yelpers they need to redesign or rethink their ordering system. I feel like every time I come here there's always a crazy line and its unorganized. Although the staff does the best they can at controlling the line its still an inconvenience. Other then the cluster fuck I always seem to walk into here they have a really good selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. My favorite soups are the broccoli cheddar soup and the french onion (its also really good in the bread bowls). When it comes to the salads I haven't really explored it too much I've had the caesar salad along with the chopped cobb which I'm meh about. The frontega chicken panini cant be beat its my favorite on the menu. I've heard really good things about the mac and cheese so ill have to try that soon. They also have a large collection of baked goods and fresh breads that I like to come buy and use at dinner with my family. They have some pretty good smoothies and iced green tea. Definitely try to come when its not lunch time aka RUSH HOUR you will have a better experience.
