  1. Tozt combines the laidback bodega feel with a more healthful and extensive backboard menu that harkens the selection available at places like Pret A Manger. There is a full salad bar that allows customers to select from a variety of greens, proteins, toppings, and dressings. Salads are prepared with acceptable celerity and the only small complaint I might have about overdressing is one that I find myself making at nearly all salad bars. Wraps, paninis, and burgers are what my fiancé and I usually end up getting here, and they are all just fine. There are small inconsistencies in taste that we quibble about as we eat ("This chicken tastes a little like tuna today" or "These chips are a little stale"), but there is nothing so egregious that we're moved to vow never to return. If you're only here to grab a snack, Tozt also functions as a deli-style space, with a very decent bar of baked goods (not made on site), chips, and drinks. There's something for everyone here for a fair price to boot. There is also a small seating area and a restroom in the back where we often find college students from the nearby Queens College campus putting away meals before class.

Two warnings though. The prepared lemonade here is diabetes in a cup. I've had my share of sweet drinks, and this had my system sugar-shocked with a few sips. Get it if you're curious; avoid it if you want to sustain any modicum of health. The other heads-up is for strict vegetarians and vegans – there is a veggie burger available here BUT they prepare it with a pat of butter on the grill. If you are lactose intolerant or avoiding dairy for any other reason, make sure you let them know before they prepare your patty.

  2. I come here about 4-5 times a week. Generally this is my go to breakfast / lunch spot. the worker Danny is the man! He always hooks up my sandwiches. I love their egg and cheese sandwiches and for lunch I usually get a tuna panini with cheese. Very clean and fresh food virtually every single time. If I can fix or Change one thing I'd honestly prefer if they would have a more affordable menu. They get pretty pricey but I guess that's the price of convenience and freshness. Thanks Danny for always putting in that extra effort in hearing me out and actually putting what I want in my sandwich !

  3. I'm a sophomore at Queens College and only recently tried the food here.

Right off the bat, prices are quite high as its near a college. We all pay for the convenience.

I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla and my friend ordered the steak quesadilla. For $8.15 you get two big pieces of quesadilla and chips w/ salsa & cream cheese. Which isn't bad at all, however I've definitely been to cheaper places that's actually authentic. But again I'm a starving college student that needs fuel so this'll do.

The chicken quesadilla was amazing. The melted cheese was just right and everything else was cooked pretty well. The only thing I didn't like was how watery the quesadilla was. I'm not exactly sure what it was but liquid kept oozing out of my quesadilla, leading to a pretty messy meal. Other than that I definitely recommend this cafe!

I wish they still had Guac though. I looked all over the menu and the Guac was no where to be found. Maybe I should just ask the next time I'm there.

  4. I gave them a 3 star because they are
    1. Quick with delivery
    2. I like their panini…especially the one stuffed with fries.
    3. They offer a variety of choices.
    4. Their healthy Omlete isn't oily or greasy and it taste good.

They don't do substitutions in their orders and I bought a stale cake from there.

  5. This was my first time ordering from here. I would give them 1.5 stars if I could. I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap with a mango, strawberry, passing ruin smoothie.

I ordered online for delivery. They're getting 2 stars because the delivery was quick and their online ordering was easy.

As for the food, it wasn't good and it was quite pricey.
Their chicken Cesar wrap was extremely odd. It came with red/orange sauce? The last time I checked, Cesar sauce was white/ ivory colored with a parmasean taste. This sauce was nothing Iike Cesar dressing. It was odd…and they did not use romaine lettuce like normal Cesar wraps. They used some green uncrunchy vegetable…..

As for the smoothie, I paid an extra $1 for a medium. I swear they gave me a small. And it tasted very artificial.

I would not order from Here again.

  6. This is a great spot to grab breakfast or lunch. I usually get the breakfast platter and everything it delicious! The quality and quantity of the food is much better than the food on campus. There's also free wifi and tables in the back. As a hungry college student, what more could you ask for?

  7. First of all, this place is called Q Cafe, which not being local to this 'hood and trying to locate the mythical "Panini Tozt Cafe" on Kissena before scurrying over to a show at Kupferberg caused a real pain in the sphincter right from the starting line.

As for the setup of this place, think typical pre-made to assemble college town delicatessen which can be found near every school in the Northeast. Maybe because I work in Manhattan and I'm no longer a student, I don't find the prices here to be higher than any other deli in the boro. I do, however, think it's fair to say that the people who work here are totally out of touch or simply don't care. One guy mopped and then didn't dry the floor, or even put out a wet floor board, so I did some fun icescapades moves to get to the seating area and  restroom. The buffalo chicken wrap was alright, but they went extremely heavy on the dressing, causing it to detonate fluid with every bite, so there was a lot of arching going on over my tray.

St. John's definitely has Queens College beat for bites around the campus, which is a shame because with all the activity that goes on in this area, it appears the Dunkin' Donuts seems to be the epitome of gastronomic excellence.

  8. Very generic cafe with your usual coffee and breakfast items!

However, my friend suggested me their panini and I had to come and try!
The store seems small but there is a sitting area towards the back which has a more spacious eat-in seating.

The panini was great and crisp to the bread, sizzling hot insides and topped with some home fries were a great way to start my day off!
Their coffee is just normal, nothing special.

Conveniently located near Queens College, so you can always drop by when you're already late for class or if you arrive early!
