  1. Pick your own fresh seafood and get it steamed or fried. I recommend avoiding the fried stuff.

This place passes the smell test, no fishy smell. I've eaten here twice now and had no problems. Fresh fish and shellfish on ice line both sides of the store. The store is brightly lit and clean. There's no seating here and credit minimum is $10.

There are two ways to order. One option is to grab a plastic basket and fill it with fish and veggies you want, pay for it by weight. Whole fish are to the right, fish filets and shrimp are to the left. After paying, you hand the basket behind the counter. Everything automatically gets steamed with Old Bay seasoning but they'll ask if you want it steamed with minced garlic. They rinse the fish and steam it for about 10 minutes. Then they show you the finished product so you can add whatever condiments you want before they package it up securely to go.

The other option is to pick a combo of fried food and order directly from the cooks. Last time, I ordered combo #15 (4 shrimp, 4 scallops and 4 crabsticks). Long story short, avoid the fried "scallops". They're fake scallops. I expected to get actual fried scallops. They sell real scallops here and the menu didn't say anything other than: scallops. So I was saddened when I bit into this doughy thing that is supposed to be a scallop. The shrimp and French fries were good otherwise.

Today I went back and picked out a salmon fillet, shrimp, and corn and had them steam it. It cost less than $10 and tasted delicious. So now I'm a believer of the steamed seafood here. Hopefully they maintain their freshness and get rid of the fake fried scallops and this place will be a permanent hit.
